  1. Well, "God" seemed a bit presumptuous wasn't it?
  2. While waiting for the word from the Ex-conductor, now corps director, about the 2020 PR conductors' announcement, I'm wondering how the dual camps went? Evidently the corps is so hot that it kept the snow away from Beloit, Wis. edition. But how about the Popery in Georgia; was there a potpourri of talent? Did the Master skype his message from each place to the other? Hard to pick the succession of podium people at one site, while the other is but miles from his hometeam. Glad to see Ed Erbling ( a once fellow L.I.er from Port Jeff) back to help out on logistics as is my other distant cousin for his second faculty year. Sounds like their show progress is Phabulous!
  3. Time for a DCP poll, no? Do you prefer Regt. in white, black, tan, red, or a new color? (One of you young un's who are computer literate will have to set it up. I'm just the ideas old man...)
  4. The C was for Cadets? I thought this was a thread about Cadets 2020.
  5. https://www.newsday.com/business/affluent-seniors-golden-years-1.38959115#user=5b571b732a077c19af5e1abe&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Morning-Update but not all.
  6. Of course, it may be that we are being too elitist about "Still Life" with our art and literary couture references. Blue Stars may simply be trying to circumvent the Revenuers and Gmen collecting the IRS stuff and telling us about life at a still (or what goes on in the back of the drum bus on tour.)
  7. Maybe Ray will have time to fix the electronics at Ford Field before the Premier show in June better than the halftime there between Lions and Bears.
  8. Young Fella, As one grows older, one counts the seconds towards some of those intermissions. Why? Besides the cookie cutter programs, there is that song that Reverah made famous in drum corps, "the pipes, the pipes are calling..."
  9. Then again, the title may fit given current contemporary "drill" features in DCI.
  10. Oh, they are doing a Canadian show based on Louise Penny and Chief Inspector Gamache? https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/338691.Still_Life
  11. You forgot what the percussionists eat as drummers love....wait for it...beets.
  12. On this Friday after Thanksgiving, DCI web page is citing some news from Battalion. But didn't it all start with BAC? Now which corps gets the TV royalties, Chris??? cf. Was that The Battalion in a Hallmark Christmas movie?
  13. And better have wonderful words for Blue Springs as well. They have connections with the Big Guy in red with the reindeer. https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/blue-springs-marching-band-plays-macys-thanksgiving-day-parade 2020 will see Lincoln Way (Illinois) and Centreville, Ohio.
  14. Those Rattlers should certainly feel proud. Thought many of us would enjoy this: https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2019/11/27/reagan-high-school-marching-band-takes-over-nyc-ahead-of-thanksgiving-day-parade/
  15. You are old! (but not as old as me, ha, ha.) I'm still looking for that "perfect" happy 40th birthday card for you.
  16. Remembering when this weekend was the first time we'd get to see the DCI re-broadcast of Finals via PBS, etc., BITD.
  17. Due to the great winds (and Weds. night's lightning, thunderstorms, and rain, rain) we lost electricity for awhile at home although Mother Nature supplied lighting and some fires. Just saw this and love it! Bespeaks the new creativity at PR with pr. But have to talk with that new kid at the helm in the office, probably doing his first Thanksgiving turkey at the new digs: stuffing the turkey with PB&J's with pizza as the appetizer?? Must be some Southern tradition, ha, ha.
  18. Gold seems a most appropriate name given the new strictures on DCI membership.
  19. I am thankful for you all. And Hook 'Em, eat your vegetables.
  20. I was in NYC yesterday for dinner with 5 of my 8 siblings. The city was almost never so windy as yesterday. Quite a feat for any marchers keeping their headgear on or flags under control. Who knew that your insistence on her daily 1000 Peggy-spins at age two would lead to national fame and forturne, ha, ha. You are rightly proud.
  21. Your on the one hand, on the other hand post sounds like Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof. Do you owe copyright fees to SCV? They could use them for some much better garb than late.
