  1. "My drum corps used to have a red bench just like this."
  2. and what about once WC challengers doing the dead man's float while treading water and being out pointed by OC corps???
  3. I am laughing, picturing Mr. Ream carting those crates and crates worth of Do-si-dos and Tag-a-longs. (as with the other hand he continues his zillionth post here.) Pass the Thin Mints please* sayeth this Uncle of several neices and whose diabetic doctor forbids him from eating even one such cookie. Thus endeth the post.
  4. ssshh. State of NJ seems to have no problems with them using Meadowlands or Salem or collecting all those airport fees from them at Liberty.
  5. don't date yourself. Few corps play at least 7 minutes brass. Not always sure that percussion stuff qualifies as music, except for BK.
  6. at a bare minimum. My words were not addressed to the victims but to the onlookers and rubber-neckers who won't let the possible healing happen.
  7. I guess his bird is cooked? Or are you giving him the bird? Response: Stuff it.
  8. and yet his shadow remains and some are unable to walk out beyond it into the sun. Picking at a scab never lets the wound to heal, physically and/or emotionally. Check with any medical doctor or mental health professional (psychologist, psychiatrist, etc.) for the veracity of what I say. Your point is good when one is distanced from the hurt and can analyze it objectively. We are not there yet. Recurring vomiting back his influence is wounding some, and granted there are some who like to live in the constant pain and some (outside the corps) who like to keep inflicting it, perhaps from competitive jealousies of their own pains unhealed.
  9. I wouldn't mess with Denise. Remember, she taught April...
  10. yes, have to keep Cooper away from SCV props. You know dogs and poles...
  11. except the more posters talk about him here, his influence remains.
  12. "So you want a race for the Zingali, do ya? Well, let me tell you..." (BAC auditonees) (Crown auditionees)
  13. Is the rumored split of The Cadets from YEA, Allentown, and USBands a divorce or an annulment? It definitely seems an undoing of anything associated with GH and perhaps good moves to save the corps. Will they be THE Garfield Cadets of NJ again?
  14. Sounds like 78-87, and we know what happened in those years...
  15. The Pin(ing) of Rome: https://romesentinel.com/stories/drums-to-fall-silent-in-2020,87097
  16. "And when I was in Crown BITD, the snakes we had at Spring Training at Gardner-Webb were this big!!!"
  17. I was giving the protocol from when I was on field committee. I'll take your word that it was different in 2002 when I was in Europe doing post-doc work. Odd that Belding had a score but Dayton didn't.
  18. nice to see one corps willing to be transparent
  19. I am not clear on what you are meaning to say.
  20. pr as in Public Relations? or Phantom Regiment? I am unclear what you are positing.
  21. As much as I love the seafood and "city on the Severn," I think it would be ironic for Annapps to embrace the organization which made its tradition a West Point uniform. DCI already has too many corps who wear blue. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army–Navy_Game
  22. Tequesta, Fla. would be nice...a "suburb" of Jupiter where Cadets are doing auditions and have some staff connections already. Some MET LIFE retired BODers also have their "retirement cottages" there by coincidence.
  23. So Hook "Em? How is National Audition Day in TEXAS? Every corps' house full? I am waiting for the posted photos of the millions of prospectives but corps are tending to be quiet for a change.
  24. almost-a-factoid for those great around-the-Thanksgiving-table "discussions": When GH and his minions (Rutherdougaford and the Helmsman) were seeking a hide-out from creditors in Joisey and wondering where to move the corps, it was DCI front office who suggested A-town to GH in order for DCI to be eligible to rent J. Birney Crum each summer. And of course, eventually DCI did the engineering evaluation and financial proposal to shore up the top deck, but A-town schools didn't agree and did it themselves. Now back to the turkey and pies.
