  1. What makes you feel this way? Has there been any indication from them?
  2. I might suggest that along with the perspectives from writers and designers, if you can, reach out to George Oliviero. He can provide tremendous insight from a judging pov, throughout the evolution of the system changes, tics through today. George O has close knowledge of Zingali as well, and may have some inside bits to share on Zingalis development and influence on design as systems changed.
  3. The only disclaimer, if you will, and I’ll state the obvious here, regarding sexual relations of staff on tour, there are married couples on tour who, in private moments may be having relations. Thinking the Floats, Rennicks and countless others over the years who have volunteered as well. I understand you don’t specifically mean them but clarity of rules matters.
  4. What about kids who are not interested in, or do not have the ability to move to WC, and wish to age out of OC? You just say too bad kid, you’re too old at 18, 19? Now go to a corps with a significant jump in time requirements and tuition.
  5. The decision to shed assets occurred in September not at the most recent progress of the legal/civil proceedings. Camp fees were returned because most all money was gone and there were no plans being made to generate more revenue. That was made clear months ago not recently. The move to trial was the final finality of it all and chapter 7 filing the conclusion. It was becoming well known by October , Cadets were done. It was hope against hope that it was not ending. But there were no assets left, nothing coming in at the time plans would need to be made to come out in 2024. Saying they were planning a full return is dubious at best.
  6. Perverted Narcissism, Hubris, Power.
  7. I thought I read and that it was confirmed, that assets were gone or returned months ago. There was no money left and no new incoming revenue or plans for funding. All of which preceded lawsuit progress. The bankruptcy decision and notifications are more recent than the dissolution of assets and corps administration as well.
  8. We have heard from posters here about how to cut costs and that ST for some corps was longer than tour. I don’t believe this is the case this year for Boston. My understanding is that Castleton ST will be less than 3 weeks long. That will certainly reduce costs, however it does put the corps “on the road” for a bit longer period of time before their first show. Between ST and the first show, there is a full local schedule in the Boston area, including their annual Concert In The Park. Looking forward to that very much. Now once we get past the expected 14” of snow forecasted for tonight, we can restart spring Monday when the temps hit 60 degrees. C’mon winter, be done!
  9. I have to believe this day in age with several corps having had financial management issues, abuse allegations (more than one persons alleged abuse) and a number of safety and care of membership issues, that any PR or media team at any org, would have a release of ANY communication, be reviewed and signed off by leadership, before publication. No org in their right minds would allow their social media team or PR team carte blanche on communications. Or they shouldn’t. And if they do, then they risk the backlash that may be generated; deservedly.
  10. Although I haven’t gone to the link to know for certain, and I’m guessing you hadn’t yet looked at it either, I would hazard to guess the info they want is is b limited to the section you are interested in and maybe your age and geo location. No one would be asking for sensitive personal information for someone trying to learn what spots are open. Seeing what is still open and seeing a link for audition info, you’ll get a good idea of needs and opportunity.
  11. Kids are so good at internet searches, I’m sure openings could be found with little trouble by going to particular corps sites, and inquiring directly. Plus they could see what the summer may look like schedule wise, as well as any other questions they may have.
  12. The number of “openings” is also for how many corps? 12? 15? 25? Do the numbers include World and Open classes? On a per corps basis, the numbers don’t seem exceptionally high. And for brass, that’s usually the highest member counts anyway.
  13. I believe there is no future for the Cadets. Saying “a comeback seems unlikely”, infers a comeback is possible. It has been mentioned and confirmed that no assets remain. None. A comeback is not possible. There is no cash left and if there were, it’s going to lawyers. Either theirs or the plaintiffs. So we all should move on from that glimmer of hope, because there is no future for the Cadets. Exceptionally, painfully sad. So preventable.
  14. Some corps may take a year off but that still is not a certainty. But in Cadets case, they aren’t taking a year off to reset. They are taking forever off. Insurmountable challenges because of a variety of past bad behaviors and poor planning for sustainability has caught up with them. SCV has a different set of issues that they may be resolving but still they are at risk to a degree. However, they are planning on a return.
  15. Might have been getting a solid number of volunteers each game and game schedule played a part. There was a minimum requirement of people needed to be in the concession stand. The games could be at 1pm, 4pm or 7pm and you had to be in the stand 3 hours before game time and wound be there an hour after the game . Then be stuck in traffic. Made for a long hard day. Volunteers are the lifeblood of corps and corps support functions. Things need to be easy for most volunteers to devote a lot of time on a regular basis.
  16. The last thing I had read/heard was the uniforms were not being sold. That would make it about the only asset that remains.
  17. If what you say is true (not challenging the veracity of your statement) and the complainant won’t settle and wants to take it to trial, what would the expected outcome be for her? I’m wondering what does she want out of a trial win, if there is nothing left monetarily? If the Cadets org has nothing, will individuals named, be responsible for whatever award the court decides?
  18. Boston included Steely Dan’s “Kid Charlemagne” in their repertoire (a few times) years ago. At no time did they play it though.
  19. However, some will have you believe it’s uniforms.
  20. I don’t believe there is any coming back for Cadets. No money now, no money coming, only money going for debts and huge legal bills. Then the legal issues themselves on top of the cost of them. All their assets are gone. They would be starting from scratch. Less than scratch actually. They need money and support. Lots of it. And the cavelry is not coming I’m afraid.
  21. I don’t need a judge to decide for me.
