Sophomore. Band for 5 years. I've marched baritone in high school band for 2 years (so far). Band is basically all I think about. I love DCI, and thats what I annoy my friends about. I'm in my high school indoor percussion too (bass drum [year 1], quads [year 2])

  3. Just listened to my solo recording for my solo and ensemble from yesterday. Obviously it was not by best performance.

  4. What kind of marching gloves do you prefer? I'm looking for suggestions so I may have some nice, sturdy, inexpensive, easy to clean, white gloves so I may use for my convinience. Any reconmendations?

We used DSI gloves this past year. I believe it was the Long Wrist Cotton Gloves. Depending on how much you use them, how you care for them, and what kind of rehearsal space you are on (turf, grass, or parking lot) they will stay performance quality for maybe 3 rehearsals. My advice, use a new pair for performances and afterwards use that pair for rehearsals for a while (thats what non-tuba players did). You...

  5. Confession: when Madison Scouts came on the performing area for the Thanksgiving Parade, I rewinded and watched it 11 times.

  6. When you hear a show you haven't heard in a long time >>>

  7. Okay... this topic makes me really tipped off. Yeah, I didn't read all of the posts. I only read the first page. And just reading the first page out of 15 makes me angry. Okay, so, maybe I didn't like some championship shows. But still. You are sending hate to the championship show that did work hard to make it to finals. To be honest, I think this topic should be taken down. Because, I actually liked some of these shows that you may be dissing on. And whether you're on my side or not, I'm sure there's that one person who commented a show that you maybe did have a thing for, but the person who commented did not have a thing for the show that you might have liked.

  9. Boston Crusaders, Blue Devils, and Cadets cracks me up. Heck! The whole video makes me laugh!!
  10. Reading Linda Harvey's blog about her trip to Japan is really neat to hear. Just reading her perspective with Crown and her experience is nice, in my opinion. It's kinda like I'm there with her in Japan.

  11. As much as I love drum corps and marching band (well... just band in general), I get really annoyed when I've had any kind of music stuck in my head for multiple days. Its getting on my nerves, really.
