  1. Own a piece of drum corps history! The VK palm tree logo is one of the most iconic logos in modern drum corps history, and now it's available on dozens of items, including mens', women's and kid's apparel, electronics cases, drinkware, home wares, and more.

All sales benefit the Velvet Knights Alumni, Inc, a 501©3 non-profit organized to serve alumni, fans and friends of the corps, and to promote and preserve the memory of one of DCI's most beloved drum and bugle corps.

Go to http://www.cafepress.com/vk8090 and get your palm tree on!

  2. :The window to reserve your seats for any of the screenings is limited, and unless each screening reaches a "tipping point" of reservations, the screenings are cancelled. If you are thinking about going to any of the screenings, anywhere, please make your reservations NOW. Most organizations hosting the screenings are using it was a fund raising opportunity.

Time is running out in Anaheim. We are stuck at 48 reservations, and need 90 to reach our "tipping point". We need 42 more reservations by January 4, 10 days from this posting.

Please, help the Velvet Knights Alumni Corps by reserving your tickets at: http://gathr.us/screening/9782

    Thanks!

  3. Earlier Saturday night I watched the 83 guard show, "An American in Paris". Then I put in the movie on DVD. Then I read the show announcement. Coincidence? I don't have coincidences when it comes to stuff like this. Ask my lovely bride, the Regiment guard alumnus.

That said, I will be going to all the Regiment performances in Southern California this summer, and probably a trip to Rockford for Show Of Shows, or maybe DeKalb. Can't wait!

  4. If you haven't heard (and if you're a drum corps fan, i don't know how you couldn't have), screenings of "Scouts Honor: Inside A Marching Brotherhood", the award-winning documentary filmed and recorded during the Scouts 2012 season, has started screenings across the country.

If possible, can we pin this post so screening sponsors can list their events?

    I'll start...

The Velvet Knights Alumni Corps is sponsoring the only Southern California screening of the award winning documentary, "Scouts Honor: Inside a Marching Brotherhood".
The screening is scheduled for Thursday, January 15, 2015, at the Edwards Anaheim Hills 14 in Anaheim Hills, CA.
TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE BY ADVANCE PURCHASE ONLY! THERE ARE NO WALK-UP TICKET SALES!
    Tickets are $10.50.
To reserve tickets, go to: http://gathr.us/screening/9782
This is a fundraiser for the Velvet Knights Alumni Corps. But we need a minimum number of tickets sold to make this happen. Even when you pre-purchase you tickets, your credit card will NOT be charged until the minimum number of tickets are sold.
Filmed over the course of the 2012 season and recorded in 5.1 Surround Sound, this theater event is the closest you'll come to hearing a drum corps show live.

  5. The VK Alumni Corps Online Store is open for business!

Just go to http://vkac.org, click on Online Store, then click on the link that will take you to our CafePress page. There's lot of stuff, including shirts, tanks, sweatshirts and hoodies, kids, toddlers and baby stuff, mugs, glasses, computer and pad sleeves, cell phone covers, etc.

Currently we are using the VK Alumni logo, but watch for the 80's/90's palm tree, the 70's Coat of Arms, and the 60's knight head, coming soon!

All sales support the Velvet Knights Alumni Corps project, a 501©3 non-profit organization.

    Thanks!
