  1. Rank then rate…that means leaving sufficient space. By definition judges should be making hard decisions…giving that .05 isn’t already compromise enough??
  2. You mean they have to actually manage numbers on their sheets??
  3. What is DCI’s aversion to playing at quality venues?
  4. Go back 25-30 years and you will find marching bands at BOA that have put a tarp down to cover the colts logo. I think Plymouth Canton was one of the first to do so in the early 90s.
  5. Achievement over Content are more an indicator of a lower ceiling long term (assuming no changes…which is not the case this early still). The bigger issues in their recap are the spread in percussion (yes cavies are monsters) that visual analysis spread from George O. When he makes a statement like that others tend to follow.
  6. J. Missing is more competent than that…wowza.
  7. Was there all three nights and BD was the better corps at prelims and semis. SCV owned Camp Randall on finals. Captions were/are an average of all three nights. If I recall correctly BD did not have their best percussion run on finals either and it showed in the recap.
  8. ‘99 was a really good year for almost everyone at finals. Only corps that felt flat was BD but that again was after SCV absolutely burned the house down.
  9. Imagine the super corps if Jeff Fiedler and he who shall not be named teamed up….
  10. 2019 and last year it was at Ford Field.
  11. DCI abandoning the tour premiere in Detroit and now with SCV gone…less than excited about this coming season.
  12. After dumping the successful Tour Premiere in Detroit I’m likely not to attend a DCI show again.
  13. G’s no matter what the quality took a lot more eat training and manipulation to stay in tune and keep the ensemble sound. Bb/F helps to remove these responsibilities from the individuals if the argument about better construction holds up. G lines you are fighting to minimize variations in the members and horns…Bb/F it’s primarily the members.
  14. We used to call that “the Burstall” around here…about every 9-12 months he’d dig up planar analysis as a viable judging system. The good old days…
