    I disagree that Run Boy Run is a terrible song. It just doesn't work well at all on a drum corps field. And they anticipated the jazz running in the circles to be a great moment, but it is probably the most underwhelming feature this season.

    The way I understand it is that there is no particular "game" in which they are portraying. Their show is more of an encapsulation of the phrase itself. They have the theme of different games -- the opener reminds me of the olympic games or some gladiator arena with Bruckner's 8. The second movement has a video game theme. Run Boy Run is all about athleticism which can be found in most games. That's why I think the headgear is the way it is. It's just a piece of equipment that you would use in the games. From then on, I don't really know. Maybe the ambitious closer is their way of saying "game on" as a statement that they're ready to play ball? And Batman just sounds cool. I think there is a disconnect in the eyes of the designers and the audience.

    2014 Blue Knights got its inspiration from the movie "American Beauty." The quote at the end of the movie says "I've always heard your entire life flashes before your eyes the second before you die." Then, at the end of the movie, the song "Because" plays. Was this planned all along??
