Hate the new Crossmen uniform. Looks more like The Sky Ryders than the Crossmen IMO. Was so thrilled they put red back in the uniform last year after so long with just black and white. Too bad it looks like it was a one off.

All I can say is - Holy ######! I love what I'm seeing so far. Cadets have always been either all in or all out for me - either I love the show or hate it. Not much in-between. This one is definitely in the "love" column.

The image of that kid trying to get up and continue on a broken leg is one I'll never forget. Does anyone know if he was able to march the next year? Pretty sure I remember reading at the time that he still had a year or two of eligibility remaining.

If my memory serves, Championships were in Madison that year. You'd think all the neighbors in and around Madison would've been used to the sounds of drum corps warming up since it was the go-to place at least every few years for the longest time (at least until Indy).

They are - but if I understand correctly that will be openly available to anyone - subscription or no. edit - Just re-read the PR for the event and it says "free" but doesn't specifically say free to anyone or just to current subscribers. My assumption is that it is free to anyone. My take is that the live streaming package will be available very soon (at least prior to the first scheduled live stream anyway) which is now completely separate from the archived videos. I get the feeling that the new/separate service for archived material will not be made available for quite awhile. I have no information to support this, just a gut feeling.

I love that they're all wearing Phillies caps in that video. A nod to their birth place. Like many alum, I was devastated when they moved away but I must admit that they've done a terrific job of keeping their ties with their roots.

My first thought was Crossmen as well.

This may be my favorite drum design/graphic of all time. LOVE it. Wonder if it's possible to get the hardware done in an antique bronze finish to complete the look - that would be amazing.

When I first saw the pre-season dress rehearsal live stream of Carolina's show last year I thought "WTF was that????" It took several viewings and then seeing it live, but I gotta say that show turned out to be one of my favorites last year in the end.

Thanks for posting the video. From what I've seen so far, this looks to be an amazing show in the works.

One moment I remember was in the tunnel preparing to go on to the field for the first show of the season in 1985 with the Crossmen (I think it was in Baltimore). The head horn instructor (don't recall his name) had been preaching to the hornline all spring long control and quality of sound. As we're waiting to go out, I recall overhearing him giving last minute instructions to the horns along the lines of "Focus on quality of sound. Don't over play. I want controlled playing not blasting as loud as you can . . . ." While he is repeating that mantra over and over, corps Director Robby (Harold Robinson) comes by and shouts in his loudest, gruff Robby voice (those who ever heard it know what I'm talking about), "ALL RIGHT CROSSMEN!!!! GET OUT THERE AND RIP MY FACE OFF!!!!!" The horn instructor doesn't say a word - just starts shaking his head and rolling his eyes and silently walked off.

I sure hope the ###### synthesizers aren't so loud in the finished product.

Pretty much all of them. I must say though that after watching the video of the Cadets' closer I'm still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor.
