  1. I always make a mistake, every time. I'm just not that good. People can tell me I'm good and what not, but I won't believe it. I'm always pushing myself harder and harder, and until i do get that 100 in I&E i'll never say i did anything perfect. I'll never get the 100 either :P I'd love to knwo what it feels like though.
  2. Woah, Braintree Braves, that brings back memories from my first year in drum corps. :P We comepeted against the Braves.
  3. wow, guys, those are some pretty amazing and emotional stories. i wonder if that'll happen to me someday. :(
  4. Out of Cavies and BD I'd have to say BD, although I don't like either very much. Cavies often put me to sleep with their hornline. Their drill is amazing but if the music isn't there then to me they got nothin. BD has that loud jazz style that I love. But I don't really care for their drill. lol. I do pick BD TO WIN THIS YEAR though. I don't think Cavies can pull it off. But as for hornlines go, BD over Cavies.
  5. Well if you go by best scorewise or whatever it is, then I'd have to say BD. Most entertaining in my mind is Madison however. I just love their style of music no matter what they're playing. The music that my instructor is having myself and my other lead buddy play this year is insane, and these are pretty much the two corps who have more difficult music in my eyes. I'm not saying that the div 1 music is difficult because i know it takes a lot. But #### the stuff i'm playing is wicked high. So i had to pick Madison because they have screamers and I love their style
  6. From what my judge told me last year, they like variety. Pick a piece that will show all aspects of musicianship and showmanship and you will probably do well. Don't know what piece that is right now though.
  7. I guess you can call mine a cheater mouthpiece although it's not really too small. I have to use it because i split open my lip in Buffalo in 2001 right before finals, so now I need a cushioned mouthpiece and that one was it. Although it a "cheater" mouthpiece, i still have wonderful tone in the low, middle and upper ranges.
  8. I know from last year that the piece has to be between 2 1/2-4 minutes long. Other then that i just showed up and played my piece and then after i saw where i was in the standings i split. there was a show that night that i wanted to go to.
  9. Now, obviously, I'm not in the guard with Targets. I'm a soprano player. I was just wondering if you would consider 14 guard members a large sized guard for div III. Most of the corps I can remember didn't have that many, so I was wondering about it. Any feedback is welcome.
  10. Now I have a Kanstul Bb trumpet, and I love it. But I'm still in favor of g bugles for drum corps, so i said G kanstul.
  11. For DCI i think the minimum was 2:30 minutes and the maximum was 4 minutes, i could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure that's what it was for me.
  12. I play on a Callet. It has a nice cushion, and it's not too deep not too shallow. it's perfect for me. It has to be because over half of my show this year is above high c. I split my lip in Buffalo two years ago, so I had to get a cushioned mouthpiece that i wouldn't split it open on again, and it has paid off. I'm hitting notes i never could before, and my tone has improved drastically.
