  1. Another record broken for the Mandarins tonight! 92.725! Highest score in corps history heading into Quarters. Congrats Mandarins! On to Indy!
  2. BD rehearsals is one of the highlights of every summer for me.
  3. For all my fellow Mandarins fans who haven't seen this. Probably one of the coolest things to happen all summer. Mandarins out there inspiring the next generation of performers. Shout out to @Metalbinky @DAYGOwho brought this to my attention last week, and also @MikeRapp who dropped this in another thread this morning. Nothing wrong with a little feel good and a positive reminder of what drum corps is all about. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DMi4KveJJxN/?igsh=MWRobndueDFoeTBxNw==
  4. I am going to shout out the Mandarins ballad which for one is awesome, and two, seems to be one of the fan favorites based on the positive comments in the show threads this summer.
  5. Wow. I haven't seen any shade thrown their way. I feel the Pulse crew going to Mandarins is overlooked in general. But I have a feeling in the years to come, some will have no choice but to pay attention.
  6. Hoping for a nice score tonight. Keep that momentum from Saturday night all the way to Indy. LFG MANDARINS!
  7. Yea I saw that! Freaking awesome! Mandarins brought that kid to tears! I told my wife, he will be a future Mandarin lol.
  8. After Saturday night, I wish the Mandarins were there too.
  9. Thanks to you, he said his best individual run was Saturday night. He said the Allentown crowd was amazing.
  10. No lies told brother. I think it was 2022, maybe 2023, Vessel had a full battery, full pit, and two brass members with no color guard LMAO. The two brass members doubled as the guard for part of the show. Salute to them, But the two brass kids did their thing for real, and I gave them a big standing ovation.
  11. Honestly it hasn't been talked about enough in my opinion.
  12. Lol seriously bro, out here in SoCal, you can't throw a rock without hitting a drummer lol. If I was starting a drum corps from the ground up, first thing I am doing is hitting up all the SoCal schools for drummers. My line would be filled out in no time lol.
  13. I want to make sure this gets highlighted, regarding the Pulse Percussion Staff and the job they have done with Mandarins Percussion. This time last year August 3rd, 2024, Mandarins drums were 1.9 behind SCV drums. As of last night in Allentown, Mandarins were 0.65 behind SCV in drums, and 0.85 behind Boston's drums. Pulse crew needs to be retained by the Mandarins at all cost. With the Mandarins recruiting and talent rising each year, Sac-Town definitely has a seat at the big boy table in DCI. Job well done!
  14. Thank you! We will! My wife already said she will be an absolute trainwreck lol. I think for me the hardest part will be Saturday morning at the Mandarins last rehearsal. After they finish, the corps plays Year of the Dragon for all the age outs. That's going to be the hardest part for me.
  15. My son called me after the show last night, and he said the Allentown crowd was lit! And the corps fed off that energy. He said he had his best individual run of the summer, and the corps had one of their best runs as a whole. Shout out to everyone in attendance. As for Crown.............whoa Nelly!! I'm in!! Crown freaking slayed it!
  16. At the very least, the Mandarins just made things very interesting for Indy. In no way am I saying they will catch them, but the gap between 5-7 is now 1.65 Anyone pouring dirt on the Mandarins as far as the 7th place island talk, might want to put the shovels down and take a small break. Mandarins aren't dead just yet.
  17. Also special shout out to the Mandarins percussion and Drum Majors. Center snare was out. Everyone kept it together timing wise. Great job! That can't be easy with center snare missing.
  18. After tonight's score (91.800) we update the Mandarins gap to the two scoring records within reach. Mandarins are 1.975 away from breaking their corps scoring record set in 2023 (93.775) Mandarins are 2.250 away from breaking the record for highest scoring 7th place show set in 2007 Bluecoats (94.050)
  19. Actually the gap to Phantom is less than two points. I was looking at Phantom's score tonight. Allentown scores has Mandarins less than a point in a half from Phantom.
  20. Crown was on fire. Standing Ovation from everyone in my house watching. My mom is sold on Crown. She absolutely loved them tonight.
