  1. Bro i have seen you post here often. You are one of the classy ones. Far from a basement dweller lol.
  2. It will have the same over/under when/if BD goes top 2 for the 14th consecutive DCI Season, and the ABBD basement dwellers start their annual chanting of BD cheating and paying off judges, with once again zero proof or evidence of it happening.
  3. Few years back at a theater here in SoCal, some teenagers sitting a few rows behind me and my wife were throwing popcorn and skittles. I almost had an Iraq Flashback.
  4. Hopefully someone will start another Mask thread, that way I can post "In before the close" and cross that off my DCP Bucket List lol.
  5. As long as BD is on top, the ABBD crowd will always keep this place lively.
  6. Well BD had a young corps in 2015, and we all remember what happened at finals, that year. They won. Without a former member stealing a bass drum and uniform and running onto the field minutes before their finals performance.
  7. I can't confirm but I recall alot of talk about 2015 BD being a young corps (Minus Clara lol. Speaking of Clara, shouldn't she be with the A Corps by now? Of course that is if she is still with the BD Organization.
  8. Holy crap! Cappy is back! The DCI season can now officially begin.
  9. I spent nine years in Japan between Sasebo and Yokosuka 1997-2000, 2002-2005, 2009-2012. Traveled to just about every country in South East Asia while stationed on the ships. The humidity over there is outrageous! Even people from Florida was complaining about the humidity being out of control lol. But nothing AND I MEAN NOTHING compares to the humidity in Djibouti Africa. Spent six months there at Camp Lemmonier. That is next level. It was so bad, the only reason i didn't lay down and die, was because the ground was too hot, so it motivated you to stay upright and keep moving. Not to mention while on watch and/or patrol, you are wearing 40-50 lbs of gear 12-14 hours at a time.
  10. Agree with Madison. They will be improved, maybe most improved of 2022. But i don't think they will make finals. Mandarins..........now this will hurt if they drop out. I hope they can keep it up. The corps i am looking at is Pac Crest. They had some serious momentum at the end of 2019. But for them to crack the top 12, someone has to fall out.
  11. Honestly i will take cold/snow over heat/humidity. I am a Cali kid born and raised. I went to boot camp in Great Lakes Illinois from June to August. It wasn't boot camp that almost broke me, it was the humidity! Up to that point i had never been exposed to humidity. I almost died that first week lol.
  12. I have no idea if true, but I heard BD has access to University of Wyoming Indoor Practice Facility. If so, the snow won't slow them down one bit.
  13. Super proud of my son. Never in a million years did i think i would be a DCI Dad lol. He has only been playing tuba for four-five years. He was playing football then one day switched to music, never looked back. I am so excited for this summer!
  14. Hopefully i will see you there. My son is marching Contra for Gold this year. First year as a DCI parent for me. So i will be at Open and World finals in August. I love my Devils, but i think all the corps are going to light it up this summer. The real winners will be us.
  15. I remember Jordan walking away from basketball for two years, come back and three peat as if he never left. BD sure can do it too. And I think they will. See you in August.
  16. Guess I failed "Critical Thinking" then. But then again I have a Los Angeles public education. Love me for who I am.
  17. So what if Tempus Blue is a Gold medal show that earned it's placement? We still need to demand that the judges put their integrity and character on the line and slot BD fourth for some stupid shakeups, so people like you can sleep better at night? Screw that crap. Every corps needs to put their best foot forward, go balls to the wall, do the very best they can, may the best corps win, regardless of who it is. Nice to see the ABBD (Anybody But Blue Devils) crowd is alive and well in 2022. DCP wouldn't be the same without them.
  18. LOL!!!! But I have to admit, still hearing BD play Space Chords in the lot....................or in 2017 when they did the trumpet feature from Metamorph. Sitting inside the BD circle hearing that...............out of body experience that can't be explained. Lord knows I love my wife dearly.............but after hearing that 40-man trumpet feature up close, I tried to convince my wife to move to Utah so I could marry all those trumpet players. No one does the lot like BD.
  19. I wondered that as well. I think they get to Laramie sometime next week.
  20. The one thing I loved about the random placement, was that BD put to bed this notion they win cause they go on last most of the time. In the TOC, we saw BD go on first, second and so forth, and still win majority of the time. If you are the best that particular year, doesn't matter when/where you perform.
  21. Obviously I am not a guard person, but it was explained to me that the drops is not what gets you penalized, it's the recovery. Any guard people here that can chime in and confirm this? BTW there is no such thing as a perfect score. In 2012 after BD's guard popped a 20 on finals night, Crown fans told me that there is no such thing as a perfect score in any caption. Corps can only achieve the maximum score. But then again 365 days later in 2013 when Crown's brass popped a 20 on finals night, those same Crown fans that attacked me the previous year where here in DCP congratulating Crown on their "PERFECT" score in brass. IDK........ I just chalked it up to if DCP likes you, it's a perfect. They don't like you, it's a maximum.
  22. Yea me too. G7 talk was one of the only times Crown received as much hate as BD lol.
