  1. There is a reason 1984 Cadets is still one of my top ten all time performances. (Actually, three of George Zingali’s shows are in my top 10 ... 87 Cadets and 91 Star are the others). I loved how she picked up on George’s genius, and yes ... she did find Barbara Marony. I am glad she likes old school, but really ... that show is timeless.
  2. You can read about Bluecoats’ covid protocols in this article. While at IWU, it talks about securing quarantine rooms for affected members. https://bluecoats.com/news/2021/4/1/the-bluecoats-return-announcing-the-2021-season And I have three Bluecoats masks.
  3. Yeah, sorry Fred, but the member corps need to do what they deem best given their individual situations.
  4. Congrats! I got my first Moderna vaccine a couple of weeks ago. In Michigan, everyone 16 and up is eligible for vaccination. With MI, in a huge surge of cases, that’s good news.
  5. I have also noticed that she has become more knowledgeable in her commentary, so she is definitely learning.
  6. I am pretty pro A&E, but would rather hear a rich contra sound than thunderous goo.
  7. Could be ... I still expect props to be dialed back as an unnecessary expense.
  8. Correct. This is one time I would get the trip insurance if it is available for covid cancellations.
  9. Let’s see ... $1750 for Switzerland or $3500+ for Indianapolis ... 🤔
  10. To answer the OP’s question with somewhat educated speculation, I would not expect 2019 level productions in 2021. I expect designers are saving their best stuff for 2022 when drum corps returns to a competitive season. I predict less props and perhaps scaled back A&E. So for all those who long for the “back in the day” type shows, 2021 might be the season you have longed for.
  11. I think a little group from Canton would like to have a say in the matter.
  12. But there may be several video segments to pad the extra time created by lack of competition and participating corps. (That’s my prediction for three days of Indy with 21 corps and no competition, but St. Elmo’s has great shrimp cocktails, so there’s that.) Everything can be done in one good day, or being generous, two. Three days will have a lot of filler added. And yes, we are still going to Indy, but I kinda hate myself for it.
