I actually feel very comfortable with this guard. There have been years I haven’t had that feeling, but not this year. But like you, I am not even close to being an expert on guards.

I went to your website to look into buying a tour shirt for this show, seeing as it's my favorite show of the year. I was really disappointed. The tour shirt is based on the Beatles' White Album. That's a high concept idea for a tour shirt, I get where you were going with it, but it's not something I would really choose to wear. Are there any plans for another more visually appealing tour shirt to come?
Bloo always adds shirts as the tour goes on.

I love this show musically. Perhaps it is my age (59) but I can identify with 95% of what they are playing, and they play it very well. They will absolutely be one of my favorite corps from this year to listen to in the car in the future. Having said that, I think there may be an area of vulnerably for them visually. For the third year in a row, the visual design seems very compressed due to all the props, and most of their movement seems like running follow the leader 2 across up, over, and down the ramps..then into hold sets. Is it effective? Yes. Does it compare with the visual complexity of Crown and Boston (each of whom have over 190 drill sets this year)? That is debateable, I suppose. Now, I am a designer and I get the fact that there is no place on the sheets for a set count....lol. But BLOO is already maxing this caption out with an excellent performance level. I wonder as Crown and Boston get cleaner, if the GE numbers might change.
Bluecoats also have 190+ sets.

Crown got a really nice boost tonight out in Wisconsin. They were set apart with no competition. That scoring has implications for Bloo and Boston, I just have no clue what it is. 1 or more of these groups is going to get a dose of recalibrated scores in the next few days I think.
R-E-L-A-X. It’s the second show. It’s the preseason. You are analyzing with too little data. I suggest we just enjoy great drum corps and let the dust settle a bit.

That Boston show is good, but it isn't written as a contender in this era of drumcorps... not in the big picture.
I see the top six in an early season dogfight. It is way too soon to make two tiers. Maybe by SA we will have meaningful separation.

Live, they are perfectly balanced and sound on a totally different level than everybody else.
Completely agree! I just watched a recording and it does not do the corps justice. Live, you get no synth issues and the cameras didn’t pickup a lot of the highlights.

I really didn’t notice it at all live. I did notice a large speaker array was parked right under a broadcast mic. That is probably the villain.
