I am around. But right now, the focus is on my beloved 49ers getting this sixth Super Ring next Sunday!

I will turn my attention to BD/Mandarins after February 11th.

    Bang Bang Niner Gang!

    In Brock Purdy we trust!

Well, you did it to me again, first BD beats Bloo then 49ers beat my Lions.

All this, and I still count you as a friend.

    I assume professionalism, yes.

Orgs and individuals who can't embrace that should go do something else rather than be in management. In Galvin's case, he has to recognize where the stink comes from, and make the case to the Board that some of them are going to need to step away. He has all the leverage he needs in having the power to step away himself, which would stick a stake through the org's heart once and for all.

The situation out there has gone on long enough, and someone's going to have to be the sheriff.  Good management sees where the problems are and addresses them, even if "the problem" is their direct reports one direction or the other.

I think Gavin needs to call an Al Capone baseball meeting

A lovely idea. But this is a giant barrier. This stuff is enmeshed and engrained over decades and so many of us have given up. Myself included now after a recent public and humiliating spat with another alum. Their drive to humiliate and friendly-fire other alum they disagree with seems endless. I want nothing to do with them and feel less safe to attend a show now than ever.

I hope others still standing are stronger than me.

Cue the trolls crying "me me me" in response to my sharing of my own experiences, which is all I have left now.

Honestly, I would love to meet you and shake your hand

Just did my homework on the types of opinions. So, there are two more "worse" kinds of opinions. Does that present any kind of hope? It doesn't seem like the firm is flying red flags or distancing themselves, per se, right?

Guess this is for you and @Rudy18 and RL.

Oh, the red flags are right there in the opinion. It seems they weren’t able to truly verify anything of significance.

Is there hope? Sure there’s hope, but it starts by getting their accounting in order, and that will be no small undertaking, and also getting their internal controls in order, which will require a lot of institutional discipline.

lol, yeah off topic but in a nice way.

With exception of SC were the other corps Vanguard or Vanguards? 🤔 Gets confusing looking at old scores.

And kind of 😈 Long Island Sunrisers were called “Santa Flushing Vanguard” because of their music(little ahead of usual Sr music at the time) and look.

We were the Saint Clair Shores Vanguards. Let’s just say in 1975, SCV would have beat us by 60 points.

This is another example of how drum corps members are cared for now better than ever.  I still remember trumpet soloist Noah getting bonked in the forehead by a wayward rifle during ensemble in Castleton in 22.  The corps doctor and one of her assistants were on the field treating him before the rep was even finished.  And, she did the stitches herself!

In 79 a CG member brought down her flag hard on my horn. (This was 27th, so clearly I was in the wrong spot … our CG didn’t make that sort of mistake.) Long story short, the next day, I had to put a soprano together from three salvaged horns.

the key IMO and we see it every year.....have the skeleton out there. add, fill in, tweak....but don't waste weeks of rehearsing the super dooper secret special ending that gets performed for 2 weeks tops. this method works.....BD proves it every #### year. in 18 SCV had the ending, they hold off on putting it out there for a while. and yeah Phantom 08, but how many other times did the super secret special ending actually pay off? you lose so much time you would be cleaning other stuff

Bloo in ‘16 worked with the blind flag tosses coming over the slides … Bloo ‘19 didn’t with the Hey Jude ending (IMO).

  8. On a different note:

Glynis Johns, a Tony Award-winning stage and screen star who played the mother opposite Julie Andrews in the classic movie "Mary Poppins" and introduced the world to the bittersweet standard-to-be "Send in the Clowns" by Stephen Sondheim, has died. She was 100.
