  1. I thought the same thing. Try breaking BAC's (or anyone's) ranks in the 60s or 70s. You'd be telling the story of what happened from the ER.
  2. Remember those shorts he'd wear in the 70s? He had that classic 70s look. Short shorts and the high tube socks with stripes. And that hair, oh my. 😄
  3. This. What a wonderful man. He actually invited our little 4-man snare line to rehearse with the Crusaders one time where we were staying at the same school. It was a highlight of my corps career. I learned more in those 30 minutes than I had all season. God Bless Tom and his family.
  4. Fer shure, for sure. These guys have quite the impressive pedigree.
  5. God Bless your sister and your entire family, Jim. All the best.
  6. Amen to Suta's response for you, family, friends and all the people of Florida and the Carolinas. The post-storm pictures coming in are absolutely heartbreaking. Stay strong, Terri.
  7. No flaming from me. I'll take a 93.1 with fun and excitement vs a 98.9 with a what in the heck did I just watch all day long.
  8. Current drum corps kids with a very strong appreciation for their corps' and the activity's history. Very refreshing. Great video, thanks for sharing.
  9. I don't think you're wrong. Those are all strong points.
  10. Oh, to be 30 years younger and have better hearing. That's a dynamite lineup.
  11. A plain white t-shirt. Boom, half the 2022 corps' uniforms.
  12. Somewhere in a storage box, I still have a PR helmet keychain from the 70s.
  13. I'm not sure of the precise progression, but that sounds correct.
  14. The looks on their faces during and at the end of the show said it all. "Time of your life, huh kid?" - Guido Risky Business
  15. (The late) John Munro was the BK soloist. He was a legend across the mid west.
  16. What dino doesn't have a zillion drum corps stories to tell. We had a soprano player in the 70s who to this day is as wild and crazy as he ever was. We stayed at Rec Center in Chicago area one time. Management was nice enough to let us use their outdoor pool one time. Joey took full advantage and used the opportunity to do the Baby Ruth bar in the pool thing years before Caddyshack even came out. Management was not amused. Another time in a different public pool, he did a big cannonball in the shallow end, sunk quickly to the bottom and pulled out a bottle of fake blood and the chaos began. On the field, one of the oddest things ever was at VFW State. When we got back to where we were staying we found out we had beat the Guardsmen in prelims and were inches away from the Belleville Black Knights. Turns out, the Drum GE Judge passed out from the heat that day and they had given us a perfect 10.0 in Drum GE. We fell like a rock of course in Finals.
  17. From my gray memory, just about everyone from 27th down dropped big time from prelims to finals in '76. BD, Madison, SCV came up a little, but it was like the sky had fallen for a lot of others. Guardsmen were way up there in M&M in prelims and ended up 11 or 12 there in finals.
  18. heh snare drummers got it so easy with no prop push arounds, then Bloo's are stuck hauling Dennis Hopper's wrinkled old a** off the field.
