  1. Theres only a few days left to donate to help the corps out. https://donate.bostoncrusaders.org/ I sent a few dollars some members ways and I hope to see more alumni donate as well.
  2. https://bostoncrusaders.org/2024/02/2024-drum-majors/ The 2024 drum major team! This looks like one of the first all MUED teams in a while for Boston. Haha. And year two of a Mass drum major. Last year with Sean and this year with Marielle at UMass. I have had the fortunate pleasure of meeting them, either this year for Marielle or last year for Wes and Joe, and they are going to be fantastic drum majors and leaders for this organization. The corps is in such good hands.
  3. A little surprised to see more people talking in here about autoimmune diseases. I have something similar to this. AS. It was extremely debilitating until under control with biologics, and some days I wonder how I got through drum corps in that pain without biologics, as that was before I got put on them
  4. Im sorry to hear about the chronic pain in this thread. Its something Ive been dealing with for a while and it sucks. I wish for everyone that deals with it pain free days.
  5. Nice to see another Aggie on drum major teams. That makes the total up to 4 that I know of.
  6. I remember that. Scariest thing I’ve ever seen in drum corps was one of our trumpet techs running off the field with blood all over his hand I decided to try and run rehearsal a little faster so no one noticed Noah had gotten hit and needed help
  7. Haha. My sister is a Nuke and that stuff is serious. So many calls and screenings she’s had to go through to get the job and so many around her have gotten visits from three letter government agencies. If only drum corps could be that serious
  8. I know my first summer with Boston we had camps in Jan/Feb/March/April and now it is just Jan and April Big change, but I think the right change
  9. Typically they spend around 2-3 hours on a dance warm up and breaking that down. And then 2-3 hours on marching. This is per camp. April they learn part of the drill, but that is mainly to show the members how we learn and break things down. From what I have heard though, there will be more video assignments on choreo and marching than we normally do
  10. Unrelated to Boston, but this is my apartment this morning. So very glad this weather stayed out until post camp so we could have a productive camp and get the members home.
  11. Jan camp recap The corps sounds fantastic and looks fantastic. So many smiling faces, and so many kids who marched elsewhere who are at Boston. They got some show music. It sounds fantastic and this is probably my favorite thing I have heard from a corps in all of post COVID. The talent sounds better than in 22 and 23 Jan camps. Walking around camp and talking to members, staff, admin, and parents I could just tell this is going to be a special year for the corps. No matter the placement, though I have an idea that this might be a special year for that too. Despite the weather, most were able to show up. A few kids couldn't make it. Quite a lot got in late, but got here. Everyone should be back home safely by now. Most were driving, with 40% flying
  12. The story goes that Ed Denon brought the ‘67 Mancini record with conquest on it to the corps hall one day and told Jim Centarino (?) to learn the solo and that’s how it got its start
  13. When I get off work I’ll make a list that dci posts on the yearbook
  14. That would be a very long project in the making I bet. I know the dci yearbook lists them but Boston wasn’t always fortunate to get a page
  15. I just checked the dci year books. 2012 was Ryan. 2011 was Jay Kennedy
  16. I believe 2013 was his first year. I could be wrong
  17. We should’ve used your uniform for the fire prop in 17/18
  18. I had a buddy I marched with who reached out to Btal about buying a singular uni. He was told they werent selling any. And then that season they switched uniforms
  19. I had heard someone who worked at the office mention what happened to the old uniforms. I can only hope that they were joking about what they did
  20. I definitely would love to buy a traditional Boston uniform. Any year from 1956-2013. If only they had some for sale
  21. I think I brought that up one day while working merch. I believe the reason we don't is because they don't sell well But I would love to see one again so I'll bring it up again.
