Troopers almost a full point over Blue Stars! One of the oddest stories of this year is the Blue Stars. So much talent, so much hype. The show isn’t bad but all of the pieces are not coming together. Is there enough gas in the tank to turn it up these last few days? it’s so bizarre.

Cadets 2006. I hated everything I heard about it. I thought it was going to be horrible Seeing it in person took my breath away. Some of the most amazing moments I have ever seen on a field.

Shutting down conversations about abuse and accountability allow abuse to continue. Let’s end a culture that for far too long said “this isn’t the right time or place to talk about abuse.” Stop abuse. Increase accountability. Demand action. Become OK with feeling uncomfortable when reminded that this activity was complicit in allowing bad things to happen to too many people. Your comfort or wanting to feel unbothered does supersede the right of youth and young adults to be safe in this activity.

So many years of bad leadership have allowed this dumpster fire to develop. I’m still hearing crazy stuff about RCA, the former ED who left rather suddenly…. it’s all so odd.

There is more coming. I think folks might literally lose their minds when they see what’s cookin’ for Finals.

Blue Stars seem to have plateaued. Some folks thought they were going to challenge for a top 5 spot this year. That doesn’t look likely. Someone mentioned Colts are starting to challenge them. what’s going on with BS?

I really thought Blue Stars might be pushing for a top 7 finish this year. there is still a lot of time left this season, but that doesn’t look likely. so much talent. The show design is failing them

Respectfully, that isn’t how it works. Employment and labor law are very, very different beasts when it comes to legal actions. Based on your understanding; then BD is explaining itself to liability when the cut someone from playing a drum different than they want. Right? If your kid’s teacher was accused of raping kids, what would you want to happen? For the teacher to be removed or for the teacher to stay in their job until there are charges by a DA? So many of these comments are truly disturbing. And they highlight some MASSIVE generational differences.

Blue Devils not at this show. My mistake!

Bluecoats have also been notified via their whistleblower reporting system. I hope they act on their promises to protect members.

Someone who marched Bluecoats last year has recently shared that she was SA’ed in her hotel room last year during finals by another member. That member is now marching Blue Devils. I wilL not share more details, but the first-hand account is available on Twitter. I have shared this information with BD’a ethics hotline because I am concerned about the safety of their members. We cannot let this get swept under the rug. PROTECT MEMBERS!

I would love to see Madison Scout lean into their past, but with a forward-looking twist. Not sure how to describe it, but think of the male and female leads from Hunger Games. That kind of imagery. I think it would work so well. Strength, vigor, swagger, gusto, pride - all words that I associate with Madison Scouts have no gender limitations. In fact, I think being co-ed presented a great way to further drive-home all of the things so many people love about Madison. From what I have seen, Madison looks, by far, the youngest they have ever looked. I'm getting older, so maybe that is part of it, but when they are next to other corps, it is very, very apparent.
