  1. It's gonna be a good year! I'm super excited! (Just stopping by for my annual DCP visit)
  2. I wouldn’t consider the boss part to be true, but this is correct. Also, we had a pretty okay run of our show today. We just have to work some things out.
  3. You guys thought ‘16 and ‘17 were a deviation from the norm? The Bluecoats might as well change their name with these uniforms
  4. From what I’ve heard regarding the Bloo uniform, every person on this website is gonna lose their #### on thursday
  5. I'm super interested in how far the Bluecoats will go with this show. From some of the info I've heard/seen, it definitely has potential
  6. I definitely will! SW is going to turn even more heads this year
  7. I'm marching with Southwind this season. I need to update all of my info
  8. Glad to see someone kept the uniform thread going. As for SW's uniforms, they look amazing. They really fit the show theme. If anyone has any secret uniform leaks/pictures like last year, send them to me please!!
  9. With the shutting down of Corpsreps, will there be somewhere where Maher will post all of his photos he took of corps, aside from Facebook?
  10. It was a relatively traditional uniform though. They have shakos, bibbers, and non-spandex tops. I’m not saying traditional as in the Cadets West-point uniforms
  11. Now that the Blue Devils won DCI with a more traditional uniform, Wil we expect to see corps follow their lead? Or will the spandex uniforms continue to appear in DCI?
  12. One of the main things I learned was how to overcome adversity. Holding up a KING euphonium is pretty hard, especially if your primary is trumpet. What was worse was playing on it during rehearsal in Missouri where the real feel was 130 degrees. I wasn’t set up for success, but I managed to get through it. I imagine that experience would help me if I became drum major.
  13. I was born in January of 2002. But SW’s rendition of Legends that year brings me to tears every time
  14. I really enjoyed the show! I thought it was super original and my friends and I had a great time watching the Yeezy band together. It made my night hearing the closer
  15. Thank you all for the great recommendations! All of these photographers are extremely talented and I'm grateful they can spread their talent to the drum corps community
  16. Specific corps photos. SW does have a photographer but I was just curious if there were any other companies like Jolesch or corpsreps that took pictures
  17. What're some of the best places to get photos from the 2017 season? I already know about Jolesch and Corpsreps hasn't updated their website yet. I also know about Zach Ashcraft but I didn't know if I could find his photos anywhere other than Facebook. Any help is appreciated!
  18. I'm not sure if this has already been answered or if it's obvious, but are DCA corps scored on the same sheets as DCI? I'm no DCA expert so don't judge me
  19. Also, I don't know if it was just me, but I got lost on what the theme was this year. Before the season started I thought the theme would have something to do about ghosts based on the title and the teasers but apparently it had something to do about our inner self (which you can tell I didn't see that at all)? Something about ghosts would've been much cooler
  20. I'm not sure if Phantom acquired a new drill writer for the 2017 season, but it sure didn't feel very "Phantom" or "drum corps" when I watched it from the high cam. I understand that's some peoples' drill writing styles, but it didn't look very good imo. There were a ton of box sets that made it look pretty marching band-esque. For example, when they get to the slower 4/4 section right after the fast 3/4 section in the closer, they form a box, push said box back, make a curvy line, make more boxes, then end the show in a giant line (company front). I didn't get a drum corps vibe from the drill
  21. I'm not completely sure of how I view this. On one side, I do think that scores should judge the performance accurately and that if there was an A&E malfunction, it could ruin a moment. But on the other side, I can't help but feel sympathetic for corps going through something like that. Yes, A&E in a show is certainly risky, but not all accidents are their faults. For example, I was watching a show this past year after I had just performed where SCVC had no props due to their equipment trailer being destroyed (or something of that nature. Can't remember the details). It was pretty weird for members to stand around during the performance when they were obviously supposed to be behind props. Same thing with Bluecoats' electronic malfunction in 2016 semis. So I'm not completely sure whether or not judges' leniency towards this issue is a good or bad thing
  22. It seems that some corps' Prelims score is different from different sources. One source says SW got a 69, others a 68
