I really thought that section lagged all season. But, in Lawrence, I got it! They were selling it. And, I love it now. (And I would add two more horns to the sea shanty trio).

Ok, if they are going to go all in on the fabric, they should drown the captain AND the whale and make them disappear. …Maybe even have the corps ‘swallow them up’. That would be more true to the story and a satisfying ending. I absolutely can not wait to see how this all ends up. Either way, the 2023 Crusaders have made me a happy man!

I flat out love that Mandarins show from beginning to end. Talk about committing to the character!!!

Wow! For a short show, we got our money’s worth and then some. I was thrilled with each show…and, it was amazing just how different each production was. Thank you to every corps member, every instructor and volunteer, and to all of those who created this little gem of a show tonight.

I would love to see something akin to the genius of the SOS closer. Maybe multiple flyovers with multiple images. I don’t know how the heck they would do it…but I think there is magic to be had.

I have an idea for bringing those teeth/ claws to life: hide a red flag/plume in each claw. Guard can pull them out of the tips at just the right time. Those claws need to draw a little blood.
