It's a good thing the majority of you can't/won't march BK... this negativity is getting really annoying on here. Can we not discuss the awesome things we're seeing in the show so far, like every other corps thread? I could think of a few corps I would rather see perform with a half a show due to quality of their performance. Talk about raw. No? Okay well I will to break the monotony of this forum. Jeez. I'm really loving how the drumline accentuates the opener with triplets, it sounds so cool. I'm extremely impressed in general with the originality in both the drumline and pits books. Also, what I've been loving about BK's shows these past two years is they're very surreal and dreamy. Like if your emotions could become physically manifested. It's like modern day impressionism in a way. I'll comment more as I see more videos and see them live. Like I said, people's personal issues with BK are getting super old. I recommend taking 10 deep breaths.

I'm not sure if someone has asked yet, don't care to look through this novel of a forum to figure it out haha but does anyone know the brand of french horns Cadets are using? I know they're yellowbrass geyer wrap horns. Personally as a horn player, I would have liked to see silver nickel kruspe wrap horns, perhaps too heavy. That dark mellow silver nickel horn sound is unbeatable though. I'm biased though as that's the kind of horn I play on

Is it me or do the Cadets seem to try too hard with their shows? I loved last year, but it just seemed like they just didn't have enough time to really clean what they needed to. This year is starting to see the same, even though it's still early. As a horn player, that Villa Borghese lick sounds so so difficult to pull off after already blowing a bit on a mellophone, that will be a really hard part to perfect, it makes me kinda nervous with doubt honestly. I feel they could learn from BK despite the current controversy that maybe if it's not ready, don't force it and act like it is. I'm hoping they'll do better though. Also, am I the only one who has noticed the violin part in pre-show, I'm pretty sure, is a recording? She's pretending to play it, but it just sounds 1. a bit artificial and 2. the tuning is perfect every time, it seems a bit sketchy. Also when she has the solo back and forth with the trumpet, you can tell she's really playing by her vibrato, intonation and the way it sounds out of the amp. I wonder why they're having her do that.

You guys..... it's not that deep. Every corps grows in their own way, and that's BK's way of doing it. It's not the first time they've done this for their first performance, so I don't understand why there's such shock on here. Also, BK didn't even place the highest, so I don't see why people are freaking out again. They could have placed higher if they had a full show, and I think it's safe to say they know that. They know what they're doing obviously I'm positive they weren't thinking, "Oh crap, mid cal is friday and we're not finished!! " They could have put their show completely on the field and could have ended up last. It's what's best for them. At the end of the day, who cares? We know they're going to be a finalist, we know they've made phenomenal progress these past three years. Can people give them a break a bit, and let them do their thing? I'm kinda glad that people are mad about the length of the performance over the actual performance itself, haven't heard anything negative about it at all actually.

Just curious since I'm sort of new to DCP, why is there such a dislike to Crown and sometimes Bloo fans? I see on other threads people bash them a lot and it confuses me because aren't they just showing support to their favorite corps just like everyone else? I've read that both corps fans tend to be biased in their opinions but again, isn't that how it is for every other corps one way or another? For example, if I were to say Crown or Bloo would take the win this season, there'd be a lot of eye rolling. I could just be new, and not know what's going on maybe someone could clear up what seems to be a sort of discrimination for lack of a better word? Oh also, I quoted you BlueStainGlass because of the sarcasm in your comment, I see comments like that a lot. (btw I'm not trying to start a fight)

To me I thought it sounded pretty good up until the JB part, it was really random I felt the same way about the K-pop part last year. When it ended in transitioned into some other piece, which felt kinda awkward to me. Overall a really good show everyone sounds great, I'd like to see the finished product as I'm not quite sold yet

As someone who got an inside scoop about BK basically since the camps started, it's pretty crazy hearing some of your theories. Cause some are almost spot on!
