  1. I know, I know, I know. Why do I live here? ... I think I'll go to California next week. Gotta be cooler.
  2. You were arguing with me... right? maybe when you quoted me and then said the problem was with the designers, I should have ignored your response. Peace. Maybe "gripe" was the wrong word. I though you were head or heels about the Crown show. To the point that you criticize those who don't think Crown will score as high as you do. The top six shows this year are FABULOUS. And Crown is in that mix. I hope they and all other shows maximize their show and present a grand show the next three days.
  3. Then you gripe is not with me but with the designers, right? I did nothing about this show. They did. And I think they created a great show.
  4. I give the kids (and Crown organization) more credit than you do. I think they will do fine in retention and recruiting and will put out a fantastic show next year ... As they did this year.
  5. Do you have some problem with the way Crown started the 2019 season?
  6. Let's leave it at this. IF Crown finishes 4th, I predict that Crown will come out fighting in 2020, and that the activity will survive and prosper. If they finish 3rd ... all the better.
  7. I don't think 80% of the population (even of DCP) has them sixth or are rooting against them. I'm very happy to see the last two weeks improvement, but still have them in 4th as do most of the folks who are playing the predict the place/score game. I'd be happy to see them 3rd as well. They (and the Cadets) seem to be making large scoring improvements. And we have seen that before from these two corps. I don't understand why you (we?) need a 3rd place finish for the future of the corps and the future of the activity. Or is this just hyperbole? Maybe Crown does a bit more marching and drill than some, but not that much more. If so, they will be rewarded for it. Or are the judges getting it wrong? I'm pretty happy with the activity, and from what I can see, there is quite a lot of interest by the "kids".
  8. Somewhat related to this topic is a discussion between Doug Thrower and Matt Jordan about "The Cacophony" in "The Bluecoats".
  9. I'm sure you could. Me? not so much ... must rely on my son's ears who can always tell who is doing what, with the entire ensemble playing.
  10. I believe you are correct. This became an issue when the FE was spread across the field. I believe also one judge checked that there was no timing clues being used.
  11. My favorite memory of 2016 was how the Devils greeted and congratulated Bloo on their first championship ever. What a class act the Blue Devils are.
  12. Sure I do. I still have my 3 favorites as I have confessed often. Academy Bluecoats and SVC. But I enjoy the competition and wish every corps the best.
  13. Crown may as well over layer, change wrong things. The future is unknowable. But Keep it up! Want to see Crown (and all other corps) do well and succeed these next few days!
  14. Maybe someone below them is! But good show tonight for Crown. Keep pushing!
  15. Doesn't everyone have 2 more full days before their next show?
