Yeah that was pretty rough. I felt bad for Kevingamin sitting a few seats to my left trying to find a way to give DCP a play by play with his laptop. It was also incredibly awkward that the teenage girl behind me was REALLY tall and had her legs halfway wrapped around me.... She felt bad and was a little embarrassed lol.

Be proud dad! My almost 9 year old daughter started competitive Winter guard after I took her to her first live drum corps show a few years ago. She has her first fall guard practice of the season tonight where they perform at half time for the peewee football games and march in local parades. After that she'll be starting her 3rd year of winter guard at only 9 years old and she loves it. I couldn't be prouder of the hard work she and all of the other kids put into it at such a young age! She says she wants to march with Crown or Boston when she gets older. Keep being a proud dad! Keep supporting your son! It's the greatest gift to watch your kids having fun and living their dreams!

How do you know it's summer time in Florida? The weather man gives up and says thunderstorms every day until football season starts!

I still wish they hadn't watered down the closer in 2014. It was one of my favorite musical moments of the year before they watered it down. But my absolute favorite was all of the low brass picking up trumpets! Man that was really something! 2nd favorite was the opening trumpet fanfare from BD.

No you're not the only one, after the opening trumpet fanfare I honestly found it boring just like I do most of their shows. It was as close to a perfect performance as it gets in drum corps and kudos to those kids, just not my taste unfortunately. I wish I enjoyed them more honestly because those kids perform so darn well year in and year out :(

Go Crown!!

Still some shows that I haven't seen yet, but so far, Crown brass is to die for as usual so no surprise there. That Bruckner and those bass trombone baby! SCV soloists! My goodness! Just wow! Bluecoats singer is stunning! It's like she was born to play that role! Spirit of Atlanta knocking walls down with one hell of a comeback season already!

I'll have to check that out! To my ears there is no greater duo than Gene Pokorny on tuba and Charlie Vernon on bass trombone! One of my coolest experiences growing up was when I wrote a letter to Gene Pokorny in highschool and he actually took the time to handwrite a very lengthy, encouraging, and eye opening letter back to me. Gene Pokorny is the principal tuba for the Chicago Symphony.

I live for big low brass moments, especially when you get the right guy on bass trombone! But boy do I love me a good horn/Mello rip!!

Great run Crown! Certainly some things to iron out, but Crown will do what Crown does as the season progresses and I can't wait to see the end product! And Crown brass continues to melt me!!!!

Man I love the audience at this show. So much enthusiasm every year! UNLEASH THE BEAST!!

Other than intonation issues in the mellos, this is by far the best hornline I've heard from the Cavies in a LONNNGGG time.

I hate to say because I usually really enjoy the Blue Stars, but this show is putting me to sleep :(

Every year that I go to this show it gets rained out. Every year I don't go, the weather is great! Maybe I just shouldn't buy tickets to this show lol!!

It was great to meet DrumManTx and KevinGamin at the show last night! Wish I could have met more of you! It's great just how many DCP folks were at the show! And what a great show it was!!

Great show tonight! That was fun! If it were up to me it would be, 1. Crown 2. Bloo 3. Boston 4. Crossmen 5. Phantom 6. Madison 7. Pioneer However the judges rarely ever agree with me lol.
