  1. Best part is the music is absolutely amazing, the brass and drumline are even better this year but the front line is phenomenal! I was in awe after I saw them live at the sendoff show.... just can't wait to see it all together. I'm so excited for a great 2019 season!
  2. Poor Betty Jo .. I could almost little see little stick figure shirts that say .. Don't be like Betty Jo. Seriously,. I love how people call their season dead before they've even had their first performance. Go Cavies!

  5. And he's awesome!!! I sat by a few people at NIU that thought that was audio, and when they realized that it was not pre-recorded, they were in awe!

  11. It’s been a great couple of days here in Arkansas for rehearsal days. I’ll leave it at that. Except to say in Mesquite on Monday, they nixed some GE by not using tarps in the high wind. Trust me, this stretch to Indy has just begun. Love posted from the DrumScorps app

  14. I’m in my early 20’s. I come from the generation that’s known to put a big emphasis on social issues like these. So I understand where you are coming from. However I think you are trying to find offense and inequality where this is none. The Cavies have never implied or explicitly signaled as an organization that they believe women to be inferior, untalented, or incompetent as compared to men. In fact, in their most recent shows they have been satirizing their own gender! When the principle of equality and respect is so important to you (and me!), what is the issue with the Cavaliers organization maintaining their identity of brotherhood while upholding that principle of respect? There are numerous other active corps who did not begin their roots as all-men or all-women organizations that would happily take all the talented female musicians out there, it is the Cavaliers’ loss! The Cavies organization has showed itself to be one of the most openly progressive drum corps out there. Unless they start going back on that, I will always support them being an all-men group. Cappybara ...Well stated and I wholeheartedly agree! posted from the DrumScorps app
  15. I absolutely love the Cavaliers and many other groups. My son is marching with them, but that does not change the fact that I love the show. The very first show that I went to, I heard the moans and complaints. Hello, the show is called On Madness and Creativity. The first part of their show is them in what is supposed to look like straight jackets. The madness - the Conformity and then Breaking Free and then the burst of imagination and creativity and color. Why don't you look at it with that in mind. The bias that stops us from looking at things and people prejudice is truly madness. These kids ...every single one... work so hard, and it is about expression and artistry. I applaud them and I support them. posted from the DrumScorps app

  17. The hype is real ..... CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SEASON TO START!! Bring on Ford Field!
  18. After seeing the most recent flomarching brass video from the Cavaliers, I am blown away. I can't wait for the season to start. This should put the doubting the rest that they have the closing ability ... https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=861339120731841&id=538048943060862
  19. The personal vehicle you referenced was towing equipment and staff. He let the Corps use it over the summer, even when he wasn't there.
  20. Where was it ever said that they didn't have food for kids beyond that night? I think the urgency with Legends was that their home show was Saturday and he didn't want kids to get stuck on the road or get to that point. From what I've heard and what I know, that's the last thing they want to happen and that's why there was the impassioned plea. I do know someone in Legends, and there is always food for them and it is their mission to make sure those kids are well taken care of. Look I'm not crazy that it got to that point, but I'm glad there was the call for action versus them getting stranded somewhere or it just folding completely. My personal opinion, is that the director - even with whatever questionable thought / financial process he did in acquiring the things was trying to get them everything they needed, ending with it snowballing out of control. I also think the Director knows that putting this message out there puts his credibility and his life's work under a dark cloud. I don't think that was done lightly. So I won't speculate, or assume that he was going to put these kids in a worse situation by stranding then somewhere we're leaving them without food. I certainly hope that this is a lesson learned as they move forward, and they will look to growing their corps to include financial advisor/ or a stronger board. With the burst of growth they've had over the last few years - as many other open class have, and as Sound Sport groups develop into open class groups, that's something that is obviously needed. Drum Corps is a Music, Sports & Artistry all rolled into one, but no matter what label, at its core is a business. Unfortunately we have people that are involved in many over the years that are overwhelmed by the business side - even in the world class arena. They need help and all aspects. I would hope that DCI will take note of this, and will develop a plan for all going forward. I think DCP did it great job coming to the aid of the Legends members, as did many other drum corps members past and present and people that have been touched by Legends. I hope they have a successful end to the rest of the season and they are stronger because of this.
