  1. I was born and raised in Han(g)over. My first experience seeing a Corps was the Lancers in the parades downtown. The first DCI competition I ever attended was in Hanover at Shepherd and Myers field.
  2. Hangover Lancers The Commandant's Owe Cold Cadets Nth Regiment
  3. Man...that' snot right! I liked the Parkay margarine commercial with the contrary tub that would say "butter" every time the person opened it and tried to call it margarine.
  4. Not there! I had many PT samwiches in Indiana, and I thought no one could make a tasteless one until I had one at LOS.
  5. Oh man...I was really looking forward to a hot dog at Lucas Oil Stadium.
  6. Being cooped up inside as a family can get tiresome after a while. But there's a lot of outside safe recreational alternatives to theme parks, restaurants, sporting events, etc... A family activity we did to get out and about without potentially spreading illness was going on a day hike. Pack your food and hygiene supplies, and explore the open air.
  7. We had family game time last night. Blew the dust off some games like Pictionary and Scattergories.
  8. I'm most concerned about the elderly. That bothers me at night. Our church is shut down for two weeks, so a lot of them won't get around. Getting visitors in person is a concern. Make sure you don't neglect to call your elderly relatives and check up on them... more often than normal if possible.
  9. Forsythia (The umbrella corporation doesn't want you to know this)
  10. I wear long slacks, and a t-shirt and I'm usually comfortable with the inside temps. Maybe consider a long sleeve if you get cold easily in A/C, but it's usually not blowing very cold air IMO. Most people come and go a lot from the stadium, it's no big deal and I recommend doing it to eat most of the time. Walk just a block from the LOS to Shapiro's Deli restaurant at least once to eat. Plenty of other places nearby to eat and avoid the rather lousy and overpriced concessions at LOS. Last year I got one item at LOS, here was my post about that: I was waiting with the age-outs by souvie tents late that Friday. I hadn't eaten since before Semis and my stomach was rumbly, so I decided to get something to take the edge off the hunger. I got a "soft" pretzel because I figured, how bad could that be? After a 5 minute wait the lady brought me a pretzel and said, "Well I had a hard time finding this and it's not very good, so...you can just have it for free...if you want it" The pretzel was cold, damp, and stale and had no salt on it. I later figured out that she must have thought I said "no salt" pretzel vice "soft" pretzel. I think she might have washed the salt off of a regular salted pretzel in the sink.
  11. Everybody needs to make at least one post on at least one thread every month or we don't get paid DCP dividends. This counts for mine.
  12. It's a tradition. Somebody has to say that or it's not Drum Corps and everything will just go to pot. I mean take that away and the next thing you know there'll be MMs in strange spandex outfits running around, using sousaphones, trombones, and God knows what else.
  13. Well I suppose it could be a growing distrust of DCI in general as a safe venue for kids. I'm not sure if that's what you're implying, it's hard to read people's thinking in this forum context sometimes. Locally and currently, sometimes it seems there are more conflicts with school activities than in the past.
  14. Getting firm and timely agreements from schools to host the practices is an ongoing problem.
  15. My wife is cooking again, but she doesn't know where it's at yet. The last one was at East Hampton but I don't think that's a repeat.
  16. I used it liberally my whole life, so if I start developing cancer when I'm 98 or so...then THAT'S the cause. 😜
  17. They brought a dangerous, cancer causing agent to the stadium and spread it around?!! 😮
  18. 😮 I dont know exactly what that is, but it must be illegal in most states!
  19. We were planning to go to battle of the bands, but our schedule got disrupted. We'll probably try to get to one of the next USBANDS things that 7R people attend.
  20. ACK! I live in New England but I wouldn't want to punish my worst enemy with having to drive to and park at an event in Boston.
  21. That's the Corps that was neck and neck with, but narrowly lost to Con Cord this year.
  22. I never know how many people are going with me, and who needs tickets, until spring (family of 7). I have all these questions about who will be in the corps, working for the corps, staying home, etc... 😳 It's complicated... So Super 3 packages are right out.
