  1. Let’s face it! Some people don’t have a life without drum corps. I get it! WW or not they need there fix. Have at it! I’m not going to be manipulated by the dreads of the activity who frankly are only involved for the money, and I’m okay with being criticized for having the fortitude and conviction to walk away. There’s plenty of other things in life to enjoy and spend money on besides drum corps.
  2. Anyone know if she ever even marched or for how long before becoming a subject matter expert?
  3. Not easy being the smartest person in the room!
  4. Body language indicates she is a liar 🤥. If BS was music Kathy Black would be a band.
  5. 1972 - 1983 unadulterated, stentorian brass sound through the timbre and strength of brass instruments majestic, passionate, accessible music arrangements amplify the compositions soloists puncture through entire stadium 1984- 1994 glockenspiel clutter emerges on the field some corps start to exit from complete and full phrase ear-friendly tunes brass lines can still peel paint 1995 - 2000 advent of dissonant arrangements decline of formidable soloists more pageantry, less musical entertainment more front ensemble clutter complicated and high velocity drill handicaps brass proficiency and arrangers cede more melody to the ever growing and ever expanding front ensemble cutter 2001- 2019 informal name of activity is drum corps (sans bugles) search for new name begins trend toward abstruse show concepts Prop clutter appears - the good, the bad, the ugly and the useless show theming costumes become more bizarre, corps start to lose identity fluttering, ring-around-the-rosie, and distortional body posing replaces visual drill writing and marching snippets of sound sublimate melodic passages less discrete projection due to over amplification and larger speaker arrays full corps ensemble indoors just sounds like a lot of produced electronic noise microphones, buttons and amplification replace both soloists and brass lines to produce power front ensemble is used for the majority of melody 2020 - moratorium euthanize the activity Postmortem evaluation: A wise man presaged the fall of drum and bugle corps 4 decades ago: He said: "The activity is going to change when the rules change to allow woodwinds"
  6. Ramon usually makes the drinks when we have a Kiki. His Watermelon Margaritas and #### Shots are yummy!
  7. Stephan said that if he never sees another show he won’t feel like he missed anything.
  8. Planning on doing the same, leave quietly.
  9. My cat Murphy, Stephan, Ramon, Lucas and perhaps one day Fran.
  10. Detect another name calling boomer hater, most likely has negative attitudes and feelings towards LGBT too. Well bye felicia!
  11. Can’t let the truth get in the way of a good Dan Potter BS story.
  12. Boot licking sycophants. Isn’t Kathy Blacks name on a proposal?
  13. It quit being about the MM’s after the first paycheck was handed out.
  14. Did the subject matter experts ask the members what they think about WW’s. I would be interested to hear their take on it. Wonder how many bailout if WW’s pass.
  15. I guess officially I’m considered a dude, but with a feminine sense for fashion.
  16. Who are you trying to convince DCP or yourself?
  17. While you don't want to be the first one to show up, you also don't want to arrive fashionably late either Michael.
  18. Can anyone on DCP verify they have met him in person? I’ve introduced myself to several people from DCP in Indy last season, but never met Georgey.
  19. It’s my understanding that DCA has essentially been mirroring DCI to the extent that the average age has continued to drop due to show designs increasing physical demand. Labor Day Championship still remains a recruitment issue for many organizations, not to mention the lack of attendance at Championships.
  20. There is a lot of people with supplemental incomes of five and six figure salaries working with drum corps. Add that with working with marching bands and winter ensembles, and it adds up pretty quickly.
  21. I overheard a conversation where one of the staff said my name is on this. I can’t wait to get on tour so I can rehearse the crap out of them, because 50% won’t be back anyway. So it’s not about the members.
  22. There is nothing special about emoting, posing or fluttering from set to set. There is nothing special about pushing, pulling, standing or climbing props. There is nothing special about being like a marching band.
