  1. I don't know what happened to drive you away from Drum Corps Planet, but I truly miss you.

The Guardsmen and the 27th Lancers have always been one of my all-time favorite corps.

I marched drum corps in 1981-1982 with the Imperial Guard Drum and Bugle Corps, from Evansville, Indiana.  My guard staff included Wanda Conway who aged out of the 27th Lancers and Quasar winter guard, and Pamela Greenwood Salimbene, who had marched with the Guardsmen and then the Phantom Regiment color guard.  18-year-old Guardsmen color guard member, Pam married (maybe then 20 or 21 year old) Robert Salimbene, Guardsmen drummer.

I've loved the Guardsmen since 1975, long before I ever met Pam and Robert Salimbene.

Craig Edling, who marched horn with the Guardsmen, joined the Imperial Guard Facebook page when he and his wife (I may be mistaken, but I think Craig's wife also marched horn with the Guardsmen, but I can't recall her name) moved to Evansville, Indiana.

I don't know if you know Pam, Robert, or Craig and his wife, but I hold all former Guardsmen in the highest esteem.  The 1975 guardsmen influenced me to march color guard in middle school. After I graduated from high school and joined a drum corps, I was so thrilled that we had two former Guardsmen (Pam and her husband Robert) on staff.

I’m so sorry about Pam.  She was a sweet girl.

I think Craig’s wife probably came after me.  He was a lot younger than o was when I marched with him.

I marched with both Robert and Pam. Good people.  Craig played baritone in the same line as me a couple of years.  He’s a good guy, too.  It is a small world.

I’m glad we were a positive influence.  That always makes me happier than any score we received.  Thanks so much!
