Purdue in West Lafayette is a lot easier to get to as it is off I-65. But I am a Purdue grad so perhaps I am biased.
If LOS isn’t ready, unless DCI can quickly swing a deal with Detroit or St Louis, it would mean that DCI championships will be outside. As God intended.
Don’t they get LOS at bargain prices? I don’t think they’re going back to Ford stadium or whatever it’s called.

[realizes each and every one of those probably happens to every corps, every year, every tour...to multiple marching members]I got quite a few sinus infections and that would have come in handy for me but different times…

Worth doing regardless. Bloomington's a wonderful town 🙂
I loved it there. I kept my hotel in Indy, too. Just hedging my bets.

Don’t forget the field replacement at LOS after Olympic swim trials. Because construction projects are always completed on time.
I’m probably crazy but I reserved a room in Bloomington just in case.

First Houston, now Annapolis. I hope this isn’t a developing trend
I just went over to the schedule. I think the shows we’re going to (besides indy)are locked down. Mason, Centerville, Cincinnati, Canton.

Swell. Planned to take granddaughter (beginning horn player). I guess we’ll see where it ends up.
Too bad. That’s a great venue to see a show. And Annapolis is really nice.

Walmart has (will have.) a new self check out policy. Only people who pay for their $99/annual membership wil be able to use self-checkout. Yes, you will have to PAY to do their work for them! All others will have to use a regular check out, of which there is usually only ONE open at any give time. I used to go to Walmart every week (fully clothed and normal looking!), now i am down to once a month, but going forward i will just bulk order and get it delivered for free.
My sister went to the Walmart in Plainfield, Illinois a few days ago and there were no cashiers working. Only self checkout was open.

Aunt Nellie put "moleskin" on the back of our heels between parade #3 and parade #4 on Memorial Day and on Independence Day for added comfort in our "white bucks".
Moleskin. Fancy.

This sounds like a great idea but all I can think of is those people of Walmart videos.

I think this is the most true form of McDuffy’s. A drum corps classic.

Yes it's says historical items will be given to Marching Pageantry Arts Museum with approval of the bankruptcy trustee. I guess he/she has to determine if they have any value.
I was wondering about the settlement GH got from the Cadets. I hope the history finds a good home.

Didn’t he have some sort of golden parachute he hand wrote which was written into his contract that the BoD rubber stamped? I recollect maybe reading that on here.
I’m not sure but that sounds about right.

She was guard instructor when I was in Norwood Park in 72 and 73. She was Marie Kas back then. Her brother Frank was corps director. I was in the brassline so I didn’t have much contact with her.
I was 14 when she was teaching. I personally wouldn’t want any of this hassle now or especially not in my 70’s. God bless her, though. She always seemed very nice to me.

It’s kind of sad a couple guys on here respond with the ‘confused’ emoticon over the sa of a 16 year old. There’s no need for confusion, it’s quite black and white. No more shame. I’m proud to speak out.
I’m sad because I know how incidents like that were laughed off or excuses made for bad behavior before and during that era. The 60’s were even worse.

Terri makes common sense statements! I think every member might need to be checked. As in the past, some members have had issues with sex abuse. If you go back decades you'll find out it happened a lot in this activity. No one said things back in the 70's. By this time DCI should protect themselves and the activity from pedophiles and others. It's not the 70's, it's 2024 and we have seen the evil things that have happened in drum corps and the directors of each corps (along with their BOD) should clean up ALL of our activity. I won't recommend a student to march with any corps.
Today the staff's are so large, any creep could hide amongst the rest. Who watches them? Who notices a staff member getting to friendly with a corps member? No security, NO safety! If I had children old enough to march I would say NO today!
Terri makes valid statements and probably based on knowledge as she marched in some pretty good corps!
I can come to no other conclusion than if a registered sex offender is performing in a Soundsport or alumni corps, they don’t care.
First of all, you haven't gotten a response and you are jumping, ping to a huge conclusion here
Alumni groups are ALL ADULTS. Soundsport groups DO background check staff, but the participants are all KIDS. DCI doesn't;t background check the performers either because they are kids. They all complete safesport. What else do you expect DCI to do?
Do you have anything to do all day rather than stir up drama here? And what does any of your post have to do with the cadets bakruptcy.
Why do you insist on turning every thread into a "DCI isn't doing enough and doesn[t care".
In Keith’s defense, I did remove my posts because I’m kind of tired of getting beat up all the time when I chime in about this stuff. We’re also Facebook friends so he knows I’m not the demon some would make me out to be.
The members I’ve met are pretty great people. I’d just like for them to have a good time marching without having to deal with a lot of other stuff. That’s all.

I was at the St Louis stadium the last time they held a show there. It was run down and poorly maintained.
