  1. I might be a little late to the game but when I was watching them at the theater, I said to myself, “is this their year?” I was shocked to see they placed where they did. Then, I remembered they don’t have a full show on the field just yet so maybe (hopefully) a jump in points will come with that. I can already tell this may turn out to be one of my favorite Cavaliers shows!!
  2. Ooh, I wanna join! Indy Indy Indy Indy sort of kidding, but for the sake of the thread: Atlanta Dallas New Orleans Detroit as you can see, I’m a fan of the indoor venue, sue me 😉
  3. How about one called “Assemble” and it’s all Avengers/MCU music?
  4. I’ve always thought a David Bowie themed show would be neat. Call it, “Starman” with the culminating moment being the corps coming together and making the Ziggy Stardust lightning bolt symbol on the 50 marching in half time while blasting Starman. Not that I’ve thought this out or anything. RIP David Bowie.
  5. Wonderful run by the boys tonight. Couldn’t have ended on a better note. I sat next to two Cavaliers fans in which one was a wearing Frameworks shirt and the other was wearing a 2001 shirt. I kindly thanked the heavens that I was lucky enough to sit next to two drum corps veterans. Anyways, I may have been the only one that noticed that one of the barrel props was left on side 1 inside the 10 yard line for the entire show. It made me so nervous when I noticed it, because I knew someone made a small mistake and I was afraid that it was going to get left on accident. Thankfully, a staff member ran over and picked it up immediately following the performance The crowd LOVED the show. I couldn’t help but give a standing O when their ballad hit was finished. One of the best moments of the entire show, IMO. I’ll take 5th place overall (not to mention beating the now 19x World Champion in brass!!!). I am so excited for 2020 already. A medal isn’t out of the question... I’ll see y’all on the 2020 thread sooner or later. 🙂
  6. So, apparently... Ringo Starr contacted the Bluecoats and said he loved the show. If this is true, that is absolutely amazing.
  7. Haha, this might not age well. But I am loving the class from everyone right now. Splooie!
  8. The calm before the storm... 🙂 In all seriousness, I hope all corps tonight kill it and that it’s left all out on the field. All of those long hours of work all pay off tonight. This is it! Game 7! May the best corps win!
  9. Well said! May the best corps win!! I just hope and pray both corps have a killer run through that leaves the audience saying, “man that’s going to be hard to beat.” It all comes down to this. Let’s go Bloo and do it up Devils!
  10. I don’t doubt it. I wonder what the DCI rules are on that, I walked down from the park on Thursday to see them at the soccer field and they were there last night too. I don’t usually go to Finals lot so it might be a bit different for Finals. SCV drumline warms up across the street too. Weird stuff
  11. BD brass has warmed up at Carroll Stadium (IUPUI’s soccer field) the past couple seasons and that’s what I’m having a hard time understanding, why BD can warm up farther away than where BAC did last night and not get penalized
  12. Really hoping they can break the 96 threshold tomorrow night. Wouldn’t that be something?? Regardless, it’s been a super fun season for the Green Machine. I can’t wait to see where the train comes to a halt tomorrow night!
  13. Well if that’s actually the case, shouldn’t BD get penalized too? They warm up about a 10 minute walk away from Military Park at IUPUI’s soccer stadium. Not sure how zoning works on that though
  14. Something rather fitting happened tonight. As I was in the Convention Center for warmup lots (warmups were moved there due to rain), the Cavaliers walked in from their buses with a train going in the background. I couldn’t think of a better or more fitting way to send the boys into Finals week. Let’s go!!
  15. Ah jeez, that’s unfortunate 😕 but as someone in here mentioned, better tonight than a Saturday I suppose. So that tells me there’s more of a gap between Cavs and Boston
  16. Phantom 2011 - Elsa’s. ‘Nuff said. Madison Scouts 2013 - man, someone a few years ago told me to go and watch that show if I want to be “hit in the feels” and boy he was right. Bluecoats 2011, when they played “Creep” - will always have a special place in my heart as this segment alone got me into drum corps. Bluecoats 2014, ballad - the entire show was absolutely killer. The ballad was so emotion-filled that the impact was like, “wow, okay. Yep. They took a fun show and made it dramatic. This is neat.” Blue Devils 2017 - “Concord Blue Devils! *closing impact, with inevitable goosebumps*” the ballad hint in the closer with the trumpets will always put a smile on my face as my eyes water with joy. Cavaliers 2014 - the first show I ever saw live, at their Finals rehearsal site. Will always have a special place in my heart as well. Bluecoats 2019 - Love The Beatles. Love what they’re doing with it. Hey Jude will always give me the reaction that the BD closer gave me, I just know it. So I guess my shows are more sentimental to me than anything. I’m a sucker for things like that. 🙂
  17. Anyone know if their rehearsals at IWU are open? And if so, which ones?
  18. Lookout Crown, a train is approaching and it’s the Green Machine Express! Hyped to see them jump!! LET’S GO!!!
  19. Man, the more I watch this show, the more I fall in love with it. I will mention that it took me until now to realize that the battery at the very end is supposed to resemble an approaching steam engine train. Genius. This show is very underrated. I cannot wait to see them in Indy!
  20. I saw a bold prediction, and I mean BOLD prediction, that had Cavaliers in the bottom half this year. Based on what I’ve seen on the recap and DCP feedback, it might be safe to say that the prediction is horribly far off. I’m excited to see this show for the first time. Do it for Don - No fear!!
  21. Oh boy am I excited for this!! Just very anxiously awaiting to see their repertoire... this looks like it’s going to be amazing
  22. Just saw something posted yesterday on their Instagram story that said “Block O’ Brass” Not sure if that’s just a coincidence but that supports the idea of an Irish themed show...
  23. Alright, I’m gonna say it. If it turns out to be an Irish influenced show and they don’t Riverdance for a dance break, I’m going to be extremely disappointed. Bagpipe feature in there as well??? All jokes aside, I am ecstatic to see what the Green Machine will bring to the field this season!
