I didn't get it, either. Maybe others did and liked it. That's me being open and tolerant on DCP. Dialing down tolerance I'd agree it was plain dumb.

I’ve been weary of BD shows in the past, too. (Love the last few years.) Just one of those personal preference things. I also don’t like strawberry ice cream.

This is completely unfair and not a comment on the performance: I’m just weary of the Bluecoats shows.

Right. I know this was expected. Just something unlikely many people thought could happen back a few years ago. On the other hand, the crowd is much bigger for the Scouts this year than for SCV.

I get the angst about the Scouts. Really. But it seems inappropriate to root on another corp to beat Madison inside the Madison discussion forum. You can express your concerns and gripes without that.

Hasn't there nearly always been a bit of Open Class competing favorably with the last few World Class corps? I think as long as a corps meets DCI requirements for a class, they deserve to be there. Quality of performance and how a corps chooses to manage its tour is up to them. There is plenty of noticeable movement in the lower ranks. For me, I wouldn't want corps going into and out of a class category depending on whether they are having a few bad years or a few good years.

BD's exit from DCI can't happen until after the 2025 summer. That's when the Devils' current contract with the judges expires. 😀

This is the kind of Crown show I like. Last year’s try for hip and cute turned me off.

Remember when some corps gave great moments like that (trumpet solo) over to vocalists?

It bothers me that the two halves of the tarp don’t quite align.

I don't know what to say about this show. Some good crowd noise, however (via Flo). Glad to hear that.

I know none of the people or details involved. Sometimes, however, life situations are simply unforeseen, difficult, and complex, no matter the quality of the thinking, planning, and preparation involved. Not every unfortunate event, or series of events, is a result of human stupidity. Most people are not jokes. They are hard-working, well-meaning people doing the best they can. Sometimes, even their (our) best is not enough. That's true even if experiences mean others (and we) can learn and do better next time.

Me, too. They actually add something.
