  1. Remember those hot summer nights after a parade walking hand with your best girl or boy friend who marched with you in the drum corp. After a parade walking through the fire department fairs, going on the ferris wheel and later going out for pizza. The bus rides home, your best girl or boy friend next to you in the seat on the bus. I was always a sucker for a girl in a skirt and boots with bom, boms. I know of at least two couples who got married and lasted a life time. I didn't end up with the girl who marched in the corps with me. "Thank God" I met a wonderful girl and we've been married for almost 50 years. But, how many of you married a girl in your corps and did it last? Grenadier
  2. As a corps member of a local fire department back in the 1960's I would like to know for my grandkids and kids of my generation are there still any local corps left. In the 60's there were hundreds of corps in the north east sponsored by fire departments, VFW and other organizations. Today I only see large corps where members have to audition. In the "good ole days" any one could join and learn to play and instrument and march. What is available to the youth today, or in fact there may be no interest. Grenadier
  3. I'm looking for some old recordings of 1960's Long Island Corps - Medford Golden Grenadiers, Selden Cadets, Portsman
  4. Did anyone find out what happened to the site or Glen Weber? I've been trying to track down the site for an old recording. Thank you, Joe
  5. I've tried going to "Preserve Our Drum Corp Memories" website and get a blank inmotion hosting page. I can't find any information on what happened to it or Glen Weber. Does any one out there know what happened. I'm looking for some recordings of a 1960's Corp the Golden Grenadiers from Medford, NY. I would appreciate any help. Thank you,
