  1. Crown had a Jacob Collier selection as well in their 2022 show.
  2. A lot of it could have to do with how challenging a particular set of drill is to get clean. I guess my point is I don’t think Crown made an active decision to not clean their show until the end of the season. I’m sure they were trying their best to clean it all season.
  3. Agree with some of these, but it seems like the whole point of practicing the show day in/day out is to clean it. Cleaning is something that starts on day 1 and ends on finals night.

  5. What are the rules about coming on/off the field? I noticed Boston's props were halfway across the field and SCV was still leaving the field. I always thought each corps had a 17 minute window to get on the field, perform, and get off the field with no overlap.

  7. Only problem is most school districts in the area start back first week of August.

  15. FWIW, the article was written by a Drum Corps World journalist. Text below is at the bottom of the article. Article by DCW Writer Gary J. Dickelman
  16. In most transfers there are penalties though. Typically, the player transferring is required to sit out a year of playing, which some would argue is even steeper than paying back scholarship money.
  17. I'm guessing Liahona's point was that if that clause is indeed in the contract, that it shouldn't have been there in the first place.
  18. FWIW, there are others over on reddit saying the same thing happened to them when transferring away from other corps. This could just be standard operating procedure for all corps. Again, this is just what someone posted on reddit so who know if its true or not.
  19. Again, I think we need to see the contract before making any judgments. Perhaps the contract was a multi-year contract where the member agreed to march with CC for multiple years. Perhaps the contract was a multi-year contract where scholarship monies for all years were paid at the beginning, with a clause that if the member transfers they must pay back the money for the years they didn't march. Or perhaps none of these and CC is totally in the wrong. We have no way of knowing until we see the contract.
  20. Until we see a copy of the contract that was signed, I'm not sure this debate can be settled. If the contract clearly states that scholarships funds must be paid back if transferring to another corps, then there really is nothing more to debate. Crown would be perfectly within their rights to request this money back. However, if the contract was worded in a way that is unclear or intended to hide the specific term of paying scholarship funds back ( or doesn't state at all), then we have more to discuss.
