  1. HThis was on the PR Snapchat a couple days ago, I wonder what it means for uniforms! I would have thought this show was a lighter concept, but dark drums seem to indicate otherwise.
  2. On Phantom’s Snapchat a couple days ago, I assume this is their show cover. Makes me wonder what they’re uniforms are gonna be like....
  3. While I don’t expect the tuning sequence to be very technical in nature, this feels even simpler than normal. There’s no apparent melody, just chord progressions. That being said, it’s still MAY!! We don’t even know how this fits in with the show!! I’m way excited about this show. After last year’s announcement, I remember feeling so... meh. This year though... I was left giddy after video.
  4. I feel like there’s something missing... whether it just is the absence of Matt Harloff, or something idk. I wish there was more there than just chords. However, they’re sounding just as good as usual!!
  5. The Instagram story seems to match the aggressive reports. Out of context, it gives me a Cadets 2011 “demons” entrance vibe. It looks like the color guard (and hornline?) rehearsing some crawling body stuff to some intense drumline beats! Super interesting vibe! If only I could screen record it to share what I’m seeing.
  6. Ah. Well that would be why everyone was fitting in so well! There goes my predictions!
  7. 1. Blue Devils 2. Carolina Crown 3. Santa Clara Vanguard 4. Cavaliers 5. Boston Crusaders 6. Cadets/Phantom 7. Phantom/Cadets/Blue Knights 8. Blue Knights/Phantom 9. Blue Stars 10. Madison 11. Academy 12. Crossmen 13. Mandarins 14. Troopers 15. Blue Devils B I think Crown’s show is gonna be an absolute crowd favorite, that show sounds like it has so much potential, and will beat out Vanguard (jury’s still out, hoping for a show announcement today!)! But BD is such a powerhouse... possibly another version of 2015. But SCV stays in medal competition. Boston continues to climb! I can’t wait to see their show this year, I hope it has a little more melodic content. I remember a lot of emotion from last year, but just no music that has really stuck with me. Looove the visual package though!! Uniforms have already redefined how I think of Boston, and the plumes were absolutely great, I hope they continue the minimalistic but still traditional style. Hard to say with the 6-8 because I feel like cadets will have a very strong emotional response to what happened this offseason and will stop at nothing to show the world what they are made of. But, Phantom’s show announcement made me more excited than any so far (maybe a little biased) buuuut their reportoire is absolutely fantastic and I think the combination of more experience and the coming of Brad Toth from BK will have them roaring. Because BK lost him, and I feel like have a tough show concept, the blue Knights won’t do quite as well this year. Dont know as much about the rest, but I really hope to see Academy return! Many of us a year ago this time predicted a year out of finals, and then a return. I hope this is the case!! Finals experience will beat out the hopeful mandarins.
  8. All the teaser announcements the past couple days have come at 7 PM MST, so just 10 more minutes hopefully....
  9. WOW. I am SO excited for this show! The video’s music is powerful, I hope they play it as such!!

  12. Can’t forget Oregon Crusaders, they’re enjoyable! But I definitely agree with you, it’s gonna be a great show!
  13. Same for here in Utah!! Definitely sad about the Cadets forgoing the trip west, but these programs will be absolutely amazing! Ever since seeing Mary Poppins live in 2015, I’ve loved the Academy’s style and hope for more!
  14. Thanks for some extra clarification! I was super excited to see where this show goes, but this only gets me more pumped!
  15. Hmmm sounds intense! Since I’m playing in a pit orchestra for Beauty and the Beast right now, I’m gonna wish for some music from the Disney classic! (Yeah, I know it’s a long shot but one can hope! XD) In all reality, with reports from Boston and SCV and other corps seemingly heading down a very aggressive show design path, I hope a corps is able to put something genuinely beautiful on the field. That was something that was, in my opinion, very lacking from last season, with the exception of maybe the Cadet’s closer. But I miss the vibes that Phantom 2010 or SCV 2016 put on the field. Aggressive, angry shows work but when nearly everyone is always intense, it begins to lose its effect.
  16. Try going to your local running shoe store. Try on as many shoes as possible and find the pair that’s right for you. Typically, (at least in my experience in the running world) the shoe shouldn’t need to be broken in. While I wouldn’t suggest going and running a workout or high impact marching for long periods of time without letting your feet get used to the shoes, they should feel comfortable from the get go. Try marching around the store and maybe take them on a treadmill. Either way, if there’s any sort of discomfort (weird pressures, rubbing, lack of support, etc.) don’t get them. But the right shoe will feel glorious.
  17. Oh really?! Clearly I missed that! What show and what was the effect?
  18. Woah... that could definitely be an avenue that would be absolutely unprecedented. I think it’s just a matter of time before we see electronic visual effects take the field. I know a couple of BOA bands have used lights to great effect, and Boston last year was a step up as well it seemed! I’d love to see what Bloo could do! Seems right up their alley.
  19. Thursday night when the sun goes down! Brings me back to The Great Even. Man, I loved that show. Takes a couple watches to understand, and is a very interesting idea, but the music is great. I wonder where they’re going with this....
  20. Well there is a Maynard Ferguson Version of Star Wars out there... possible source music?
  21. No clue if the media teams are same, and there were no teaser videos last year, but this show announcement video has a very similar style. Makes me think that the •••- - -••• pattern will be very integral to the show.
  22. I’m thinking the show title is “SOS.” I think it would be hard to model a show around Earhart, because the historical knowledge around her is less well known, unless it’s loosely based on her crashing then getting lost.
