You did your student a solid by pointing out the risks of triple majoring. It was noble and wise. You must have felt the strong forces your advice was up against. It is so human for us to take risks for gain.

Injuries have always been a part of sports and competition. Artists outside of competition also get injuries (for example, ballet dancers). It’s not the combination of the two that is the problem, but a different (and worthy) matter of discussion altogether.

Completely accurate. With the halving of the visual scores it averages out to less than .1 in every subcaption. A victory, yes, but not a smackdown.

There are many many many places to find art and competition separate from each other. Combining the two is what makes this activity special.

What nice things to say. I found BAC’s performance very in control, across captions. Lots of musical clarity and much improved M&M over last week. BD has plenty of room to maximize achievement of their meaty design.

I’ve had that affliction too. When I love their show, they don’t win… and it happens in that order… except 2013. re:Rrite was admittedly dope, but listening to it gave me headaches

There’s definitely work to do, but they make certain to design those big moments, totally about the movement… full corps, bold sequences, in total unison, with little else going on.

No one takes body movement more seriously than BD and Bloo.

I’m a BAC honk who tries (sometimes successfully) not to post from a biased view. Loved Crown ‘13. BD is undeniably the standard of excellence in this activity. A victory against BD by any corps is a whale of an accomplishment. Huge admiration toward BD, a great organization who puts out a consistently stellar product. When I’m negative on BD it’s usually because I feel a wider range of emotions coming from the designs of other corps. Looking forward to great performances from everyone tonight, and hoping that BAC is ready to show why we fans think they are the best edition yet.

BD trained in WY? That definitely builds stamina. Looking forward to this match between BAC and BD. I’ll be cutting BAC a lot of slack personally. Been through the altitude thing. It can take weeks to adjust… and then you feel like a super hero

Battalion, Troopers, and BK are in their high altitude habitat. The west touring corps have had a little time to adjust to the lower oxygen levels. Will it be a factor for BAC tonight?

imho Boston will win before Mandarins medal. Mandarins’ break into top 6 will also be their first medal.
