That's my favorite show of all time. The more I watch and listen to it the more congruent and flawless it becomes. Such a risk with the use of music tech too.

They did it finals night 2 years ago...but they didn't catch Boston last year.

Very true- I do really like the show I just wish the brass book was a little crazier.

In the opinion of my ears the had their best hornline to date last year.

Just got my first good read of Crowns show from start to finish. I was just having a lot of trouble finding a good video before. 1. I love the visuals/drill and how much they March+ move throughout the show. 2. This corps is too good to be in 5th place (but so has just about every corps since 2014). 3. I find this show to be musically accessible- the opener is catchy, the ballad is reminiscent of a great Phantom ballad of the past, I LOVE LOVE the Latin style closer. My issue- it doesn't sound like a Crown Brass book to me. Every show since 08 their brass has brought my jaw to the floor. The talent is there this year but the book just doesn't get me there.

I agree but I sorted it that way due to the Random 3 groupings.

Didn't say any of them would for sure pass up the Cavies and have them in 6th. I think it's much more likely for Crossmen to be in the 7-9 grouping than Cavies- but Cadets and BK have been doing well and Cavaliers are only head to head with Blue Stars. Don't thinks Blue Stars will pass them but- different shows- different scores. If scoring is a little higher in Denver vs Illinois it's possible for one of them to sneak in the top 6. The Cavaliers show seems to be well performed and well liked. I still have them at 6 at the end of the season regardless of their grouping in San Antonio. The fair thing to say for the top 3 I guess is whoever wins each show should earn a top 3 spot.

So Im guessing this is the general consensus for groups of 3 as of now BD, Bloo, SCV Boston, Cavies, Crown BK, BS, Cadets Crossmen, Mandarins, Phantom Academy, Colts, SOA Madison, PC, Troop Genesis, Music City, Surf Cascades If this is the case I think the most likely to change groupings are Music City, the Crossmen, or if anyone currently 7-9 scores higher than Cavies.

In the Random group of 3 I think is okay in the case of San Antonio- that is unless the 3 seed draws 1st overall and 4 seed 6th overall...etc. then the performance order debate does come into play. If you are in the doesn't matter camp than it doesn't matter but if you are in the order does matter camp then having 4 corps between two close corps does make a huge difference

Soon the performance order for San Antonio will be determined. We haven't seen BD vs Bloo yet- who has the edge to get the final performance in San Antonio? The Memphis should should definitely help us see how things shake for SCV, Boston, and Crown- but do the Cavaliers fall into this group too or is there a chance that Boston or Crown sneaks on the field after BD? Are the Cavaliers a lock at 6 or are there other corps sneaking up on them? What about the 7-13 performance order? Many of them have yet to meet head to head as well. How about 16-19? How do you think that will shake out? How much does what show these groups perform at tonight affect order? This is just a discussion thread for over analytical minds and people that like to make predictions *The intention of this thread is NOT to discuss the truth of the old "scores don't matter until San Antonio" and it is also NOT intended to spark a discussion on whether or not performance order matters.😁

I find your sentiment to be true most years. I'm not a judge with a score sheet in front of me either. What I do know is that the top 6 are incredibly strong this year and the talent doesn't stop there. Looking at a strong semifinals group and I can't wait to see them all!

She also probably didn't ask for it to be posted on Reddit. It was probably meant to stay within the Cadets community as a drive and a force for action and change. But it reached the news and information got leaked because people wrere asking questions and now confidentiality is breached. Either the mother or the poster was likely ignorant to the fact that that much identifying information was there.

The names are but A. The story line and possibly first name of the alleged victim in addition to his current corps and instrument are mentioned. The report still also contains his age and race. Now the victim is obviously close to the person who released the information and may or may not have given consent for the email to be sent...but probably not for it to be posted on Reddit. B. The alleged perpetrator also has identifying information of age, race, name of town of residence and ZIP CODE. Given that this person is A. Likely in highschool and marched in the Cadets B. Is of a minority race in a predominantly white community.... ANYBODY in that area can easily figure out who this kid is. That's like revealing my profession, gender, age, county that I work, and the fact that I am left handed. Guess what? It's only me!

I haven't read through everything in this thread or the Reddit thread but that it NOT cool and makes is a lot easier to breech confidentiality. So basically it's pretty easy to narrow down the school that the individual could attend. It's easy enough to narrow it down based on participation in a world class corps in that neighborhood at that age but add race and boom. Very easy to figure exactly who this is. All of that aside the content of the letter makes me sick to my stomach too.

Preliminary vote. I might change my answers as the season progresses. Still have a bunch I haven't gotten a full read on.

The map of the top 16 (going to where Madison is) is unequivocal. There are 4/16 or 25% in a small area of the Midwest. Then keep in mind that the Bluecoats have been doing more in Indiana and population density wise the Colts aren't that far out there. Then you have 3 of the top 10 in Central CA not very far apart from each other too. So that's 9/16 Atlanta and Ft Mill are 4 hours apart. Boston and Allentown aren't far geographically but the population density is there. So that leaves BK, the Crossmen, and the Academy. The geography doesn't seem to matter as much as pro sports because there are giant population areas that are completely void of good drum corps

1997 scouts are great- I have trouble finding the entire show though.

Do you want a handful of shows over time? I think just about any sequence from the essentials collection works well. Here are some shows that I think are both entertaining and show growth, are relatively easy to find, and a nice mix of corps. 1976 BD 1980 Bridgemen 1984 Cadets 1989 SCV 1991 Star of Indiana 1995 Madison Scouts 2000 Cadets 2006 Cavaliers 2008 Phantom Regiment Insert favorite recent BD championship here- I think 09 and 17 are the most accessible but 14 is probably most important. Doesn't matter- there are 6 to choose from 2015 Crown 2016 Bluecoats 2018 SCV

I think I may need to clarify (again). Although I am not myself a baby boomer I think this generation fueled social change better than any other, certainly better than my generation. I'm confused with the sudden rage against baby boomers. Did you go to Woodstock? That's really cool if you did! I was pulling for a Bluecoats Woodstock show...lol. I think that some ridiculous out of line things have been posted on this thread but it has little to do with the age of the poster.
