  1. Let me know whatcha want to do with "comments" I have a few tricks up my sleeve.
  2. I miss the adrenaline rush of the 60 sec warmup I miss walking into the stadium at DCI finals while the corps before you is finishing up their performance, and hearing the roar of the crowd as they finish. I miss the anticipation of the score announcements at retreat I miss having a percussion judge standing a foot in front of me looking for a "tick" I miss hearing our hornline playing F Tuning sequence during the 60 sec warmup Most of all, I miss being a part of 135 people that become "one" for 13 minutes
  3. Dan, The ability to upload/link images has been disabled tempoarily due to some recent outside attacks. That said, we are currently working on resolution. Sorry for the inconvenience. :)
  4. Stands for the tenors during sectionals. (Well, we didn't have them back in the day, as my chiropractor knows, quite well, but one can wish). :P
  5. Welcome to DCP, Shamroch. Enjoy your stay. :)
  6. Hi, Welcome to DCP. I'm sure you will get more coverage in the DCI forums, so I'll move it there. Enjoy your stay. :)
  7. Understood.......that said, if an FSTM does indeed jump into a thread, there's good reason.
  8. Sorry, I'm going to chime in on this, to set the record straight. There is NOTHING knee-jerk regarding closing threads, or removing posts. The ONLY time, and I repeat ONLY time it's done are due to possible violations of the DCP Community Guidelines.
  9. John can better answer that, he executed the update.
  10. I'm sure this may have something to do with it.
  11. Last season, it was the "Yowza" of the Blue Devils..........this season it appears that The Cadets are the focal point for discussion, and on August 13th, it will more than likely be "<insert corps name> got hosed", "<insert corps name> didn't deserve that score". Wash.Rinse.Repeat. See the beauty in life is to cling to your beliefs, which is a good thing, but it's "how" you express it that makes the difference. When speaking regarding our activity, it's OK to like/dislike a corps/show, etc., but as some have witnessed lately, the manner of "how" that has been done, in some cases, has been quite coarse. The problem that I have noticed EVERY drum corps season at DCP is that some people can't seem to respect another's opinion. Some seem determined to totally disregard one's thoughts', and in-turn try to state their case by discrediting another's. The fact of the matter is........everyone has a right to their opinion......... and that's what we're here to facilitate - the sharing of people's diverse opinions. Example: "I really enjoy the <insert corps name> show this year because of <insert aspects>. At this point, a member could respond: "How can you like that? That has to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard" It may be nore constructive by responding with: "Hmmmmm, personally, <insert aspect> doesn't really do anything for me, but that's my opinion, and I respect your opinion regarding it. "Different strokes for different folks", So I'll agree to disagree" What that type of exchange has eliminated is a flame-war between members. Both members respectfully stated their opinions, and respected each other, something that would be welcome in the overall scheme of things at DCP. No one is asking for a "love-fest", but rather a concise, reasonable way of expressing an opinion. Ask yourself this: Which would you rather read ..... a respectful point-of-view or a condescending rant that attacks one's character? I would like to think that a huge majority would choose the former. So, as Community Administrator, I'm asking everyone to please keep an open mind when it comes to "differences" members may have regarding a topic, or "likes and dislikes", if you will. Regards, Rich
  12. Sure, as long as you follow the bold part of the following guideline:

  17. Tiger Woods' father banged pans together in his face while he was on the practice tee. They can blame it on themselves. :P
