  1. Are you saying Beast was an attempt to be "fun, weird, and campy"? Because it was anything but...
  2. I honestly believe they need to start designing the shows around Klesch's arrangements instead of what seems the other way around. Music is what drives this corps. It's not about their story telling abilities, or the big props, or the theatricality of the shows. It's the music. That brass wall of sound, and now add the percussion to that. They are what is keeping this corps in the top 6. Write to the music. That, and I feel like they should head in a different direction in drill design. Nothing against Sacktig, as he's written some outstanding shows, but his style is a bit dated and doesn't suit Crown in the slightest. Also, can we go back to Puck One, fun, campy, weird Crown please?
  3. They hit the first chord in Bruckner and I looked at my friend and said "They're peaking at the right moment."
  4. My biggest issue is the drill honestly. I love Sacktigs writing with Cadets, but I'm not a fan of what he has done for Crown.
  5. So, finally watch Blue Devil's all the way through tonight...still don't think they move enough.
  6. Thought Crown was 7th tonight? Unless you're going on the 3 days...
  7. I'm honestly not sure I'm willing to give him one more...two off shows in a row? No need for a third...
  8. I feel like Crown just peaked at the right time! Will they win? No. Will they medal? Unlikely. But #### if that wasn't a #### strong 4th place performance!
  9. I mean that in all seriousness. Lol. Michael Jackson bought their rights out when they went up. This was back in the 80s I believe. Bought them right out from under Paul McCartney.
  10. Did the rights go back to Paul McCartney and John Lennon's family, or did they go with the Michael Jackson estate?
  11. Not so fast. Crown used all those classic rock hits in 2011, and I know of a local high school here in Kentucky in the same year who did an all pop song show and Box 5 (shudder) got the licensing for it to appear on the DVD. It can be done.
  12. My high school band was more serious. My hometown was built around the arts, though interest has slid a little, but we took marching band seriously to the point we had auditions at the end of 6th grade and if you weren't good enough you got cut and were told to come back next year. We competed in the state circuit and went to Nationals until we got a new director. Then it all started to go down hill. I'll never forget seeing Crown for the first time in 2007. We did a Kentucky Derby show, more specifically Barbarros story, in 2006 and then Crown came out with Triple Crown. It was too perfect. Then they started playing and I fell in love. Never looked back! Before I was a Cadets fan.
  13. I'm no baby boomer, but I LOVE The Beatles. I listen to at least one record a day, and yes I mean record. Lol. A total Beatles show would throw me overboard. I could honestly say I could die a happy man. The power of Crown brass behind a Hey Jude company front...I could cry just thinking about it!
  14. Dumb? Woah woah, The Beatles are my absolute favorite. Don't dis the genius of Paul and John.
  15. He's just given us perfection every year, so have come to expect it. Lol. I honestly think it's the drill for me this year. It just doesn't suit the music...
  16. Can we just get an entire Crown show to the style of Puck One from 2009? Please? I need some crazy, campy, fun Crown next year...
  17. I like jazz. I don't like Bluecoats or Blue Devil's jazz. I prefer smooth jazz.
  18. Now now, don't compare Voldemort to him. Lol. #SlytherinAlumni
