  1. All 12 corps .. thank you. Great performances. Great ‘23 season. Few thoughts — Thought Crown was going to be 4th. . Boston stepped it up tonight and the reverse ending with the white whale - so good Thought Blue Stars should have finished 10th and Troop 11th. .tonight was their best show in awhile. Guard nailed the exposed tosses on the slides As for people possibly booing BD - never heard it. Crowd response was loud and a standing O the last 30 seconds of the show. The victory concert was well attended and everyone stood for the entire performance Wasnt “Crystal” like years ago during SCVs ballad but noticed more people yelling comments out loud during performances. Cmon . Just why? Is there a place for non-finalist corps members to sit? quite a few of them were trying to take seats between the 30s, and one just sat down without even asking me if that was someone’s seat (it was). I know they work hard and should be appreciated but people should not be having to kick them out before performances. Not sure what to think on this one .. Thanks again for a great season - bring on ‘24
  2. I was in section 139 and everyone stood and cheered. Heard no complaints at all about BD, just respect. .. and following Crown is not easy for anyone
  3. Changing your opinion after seeing a show multiple times is not “hating” .. I didn’t care much for the Bluecoats show last season upon first viewing but it ended up being one of my favorites. Same thing this year with them for me .. first viewing thought it was boring, but expecting once again after seeing them a few times to think differently. Now, are there folks that want someone else to claim the gold on August 12th? Absolutely! .. but take that as a compliment
  4. Stadium looked full to me Yes it was hot, but the humidity was low so that helped/ .. have sat thru hotter shows at Broken Arrow, Denton, Katy than tonight Typical AZ crowd .. very supportive of all the corps. BD was more silent cause when watching them you just appreciate the talent they have Academy Youth - flags, rifles, sabres all used . Nice job . Arsenal - from El Paso. .show not complete just yet. Small corps or group as they were called. Liked what they did have though. Mandarins - what to say. Most talented corps they have had. So much going on the field it’s going to take multiple viewings . They might take 5th in Indy. Watched the battery warmup in the lot . Impressed. BD - when I watched them on Flo for the San Diego show thought they could be beat this year .. seeing them in person tonight - nah. The guard work is ridiculous. .:they are way ahead of everyone else, but the thing is this show has so much more to add. Thinking another championship will be added to the BD trophy case Academy - they have a chance to be on the field Sat night in Indy. Like this show more than last season for sure. Uniforms look great. Seems more talented in guard than last season, I think. Crowd favorite obviously As for going back to Mesa - glad they did • Last year was at ASU and the field looked awful. Easier to enter/leave the stadium tonight and concession lines were not bad at all compared to last year. Hopefully they keep the show in Mesa
  5. Will be there tonight ..cant wait to hear the Mandarins up front and center - they just might knock on the door for 5th-6th place in Indy
  6. Couple things .. Hottest show have ever attended. Could have watched it in a sauna at the gym and it might have been cooler. ..great crowd and think it stays at ASU from now on. The lot looked like San Antonio, Atlanta , so many folks watching the lines warm up PC- not bad, guard work incomplete but the flags in the closer were good Blue Knights- staffing changes . They have lost that uniqueness, especially in the battery. The uniforms look great though BD- dirtiest have seen them .. ever. Guess was expecting more after reading earlier Cali show reviews. That being said they probably are still winning it all SCV- just ends. No closer yet. Will win best drums. Babylon 3.0 The Academy. -thought they were the most entertaining. Will they have a seat at the table on Saturday night in Indy? Nah. .. but this works for them and will get good crowd responses
  7. I’m at the show ... BD. Just wow. Think they win easily tonight SCV - why ? The tarps ruin the show for me. It’s good, but something is missing. Please get rid of the tarps
  8. 9th place? This to me was the surprise of finals week. I've never seen a battery more angry, more ###### off then this group -- and I loved every minute of it! In all the years I've gone to DCI, I can't remember watching the battery for the entire show, until BK '16! So congrats to the percussion staff -- the sheets may not have reflected it, but the writing and playing style was just awesome to watch! Thank you BK
  9. BK's battery ... My goodness. Phenomenal. That is all.
  10. I guess I did. What years are you referring to? Madison has always been popular from what I remember.
  11. Madison would bring the house down marching up and down the 50 yard line playing "Hot Cross Buns" .. and if they were playing this years BD show it would be praised as brilliant, innovative, creative, Star '93 part II. Lets be honest here: BD is not liked because they win too much and yes I have heard fans that I know say it.
  12. How about Angels vs. Demons 2 where the Demons win this time?? ;) Think '87 Garfield to this day is the best show ever done by any corps. Not so sure that even a 25 year anniversary show could top it.... Interesting idea though.
  13. Maybe the alternate was not cutting the mustard to be put in?
  14. I think the best format would be to allow the voter to pick 6-8 shows from any year, any corps -- and no rules about how many times a corps or a year would appear on the screen. It would be the ultimate showdown to see what show is truly the champion.
