  1. Meat and potatoes people. What is putting Blue Devils ahead of the rest is their book. They have the most sustained sections of playing actual music…not just little fanfares and movie background music. They have the longest sustained ballad of any of the top corps with Boston coming in next. Some may prefer “innovation” and flash, but maybe some judges prefer music and Melodies over gimmicks. That said, all the corps performed at an extremely high level and are supremely talented and are all winners 🏆. This is a thoroughly enjoyable season. So glad drum corps is back 😁👏🏼
  2. I have 1 ticket for Broken Arrow to give away. Section D, which is center. Message me if you want it.
  3. I have one ticket to the Broken Arrow, OK show to give away. Section D, which is 50 yard line. Message me if you want it.
  4. But AZ does not do DST, so will that show be at 7:30 for the rest of the mountain time zone, or 7:30 AZ time, which is 8:30 for the rest of mountain time? Guess I'll tune in at 7:30 MDT and find out :).
  5. There is an unlisted video of the full show on YouTube now. Posted 15 hours ago and only 475 views so far, so about 3 per family 😆. So they’re doing a pretty good job of keeping it under wraps for a little longer. Glad folks are liking what has made it out so far. Really looking forward to seeing it again with uniforms on Saturday!
  6. My son sent us a 9-minute video about 10 days ago and an 11-minute video a few days ago. A lot of changes and improvement from the 1st to to 2nd and I'm sure there is more to come. This is his age-out year and 1st year with BD, which was his dream. During our years watching the activity I have never been a big fan of BD shows at the start of the season, but they always grow on me and I'm a fan by the end. My take so far this year is the same, but I'm sure it will grow on me much faster this year with parental bias 😀. I think my son had pretty much decided last year to finish his drum corps journey with his prior corps, but as they were about to take the field at Indy last year for their final performance, a staffer and BD vet said in his ear "Go to Blue Devils, you can do it." and here we are. While I of course hope they can win this year, I just hope they have a great season and people enjoy their show and are on their feet at the end. That's what it has all been about for my son, but I'm sure a medal around his neck at the end would be the perfect ending for him. It's been a lot of fun and we will miss it, but the next couple months are gonna be great!!!
  7. From BD's tax returns (available on line for all to see) it does not look like they would have too much to worry about. The most recent year is not available to see yet, but they probably don't change all that much from year to year.
  8. DCI should just ask all Corps to cancel March and probably April camps. If things improve and the season is able to move forward, all of the Corps would be on a level playing field when spring training begins. In the meantime kids can continue to work on music at home and submit videos, etc. to keep things progressing. Chances are that pretty much all Corps are going to cancel these camps anyway.
