I’m not sure but that sounds about right.
Yes it's says historical items will be given to Marching Pageantry Arts Museum with approval of the bankruptcy trustee. I guess he/she has to determine if they have any value.

I wonder what happens to the trophies they have won over the years...even pre-DCI? Do those have to be sold as part of the ch. 7 bankruptcy?

My top 3 are
3. 1996. American West....pure Cadets Americana.
2. 2001. Juxaperformance...Amazing horn line and my favorite show in 2001.
1. 1995. An American Quintet. Perhaps one of the best ending to a show...wonderful and entertain show.

Haven't other corps faced bankruptcy and returned? Didn't Boston Crusaders file for bankruptcy back when?
Not all BK are the same. Ch. 7 is total liquidation. Other filings are for reorganizations.

Sad but not surprised. Very encouraging (top 5) last year trying to rebuild but they just were still in the shadows of... you know who. You know that saying...."you live by the sword...you die by the sword".

I saw the announcement for the San Diego/Rose Bowl change. I actually like what they are doing with two shows in one location.
I am just getting more concerned that DCI has not said a peep about where the Houston show will actually take place. Are they having that much trouble finding a location for a historically strong show?
I do like the new location. I checked on Google maps and it's a very nice location and the venue while not big it looks cool. Walnut is right next door to Dimond Bar.

My take on the 10 years since 2014 is BD is still stronger than ever but DCI is not. 2014....full force of corps and no real issues in regards to corps folding ect. Even Madison Scouts made finals. 10 years later.....BD still dominate but the activity...really on thin ice.

My literal introduction to DCI. BD was just starting on the PBS broadcast as I was channel surfing and seeing them glide across the field stopped me in my tracks — plus I knew the music! Taxi Driver, unforgettable.
Yes the good old days of PBS.

The first big Cali show and DCI Austin and DCI Houston (which are always streamed) are still listed as "TBD" on the DCI website. Hoping that they'll be streamed once the sites are "determined".
I'm hoping MidCal gets streamed as it's always on the list.

Two shows I wish I could have seen live is 1975 Madison Scouts and 1976 Blue Devils. Not because of regret but I was a young kid that had no inkling of drum corp.

I don't think DCI is overcharging events. Tix prices cover the cost of the venue, corps participation and other expenses.
-
I wonder if BD Entertainment drums will be in Vegas for the Niners support.

I’m pretty sick of the random person saying cadets are gonna shut down. We went through this with SCV and they are alive and kickin’
SCV is in a better financial situation to come back after a year off. They own their own property and have two bingo locations. The property in Santa Clara is in the heart of Silicone Valley.

Thank you for sharing this valuable information regarding the hotel block for the 2023 DCI Championships in Indianapolis. It's wonderful to know that The Cadets have arranged a block of 20 rooms at both the Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Downtown Union Station and the Omni Severin Hotel. This will undoubtedly make the trip more convenient for friends, family, fans, and alumni of the corps attending the event.
This news came out in March 2023. I'm assuming since the Cadets are not active in 2024 that has changed? They announced their inactivity in Oct. 2023.

11 paragraphs of a detailed description but no music repertoire. I like the cute figures. Be cool if they sold them as figurines.

It's not bitterness or saying it's unearned or undeserved- more of an acknowledgement of the seemingly perpetual disparity between what BD rolls out with every year and what every other corps brings out, as well as the lack of overall competitive parity at the top that's been the environment of DCI for the last 10-15 years.
To have any other expectations for this season, or any given season for the foreseeable future, would be wishful thinking at best or being in denial at worst.
And yes there's a lot of time between now and August but realistically speaking, it would take something along the lines of multiple major staff departures or a sudden unforeseen and unexpected drop in finances or recruiting, and none of those are anything that should be expected to happen anytime soon.
I absolutely get the BD fatigue of them not just winning but doing so in a dominate fashion. No question they will be in full force in 2024. You look at their legacy since 1975 and it's....well unprecedented.

I've grown to appreciate this show. Back in 2012 I thought it was corny.

SCV will proudly return to the field in 2024. Wouldn't surprise me if they make top six.
Thank you. Lots of hate to SCV. Some want them out...I want them back. DCI-SCV....that is DCI.

Just making my best guess based on the never ending #### show that is their organization, and the continuous drip drip drip of bad news.
So your GUESSING....or hoping.

Well considering Cadets won't be there, and SCV will likely also not be there...sure.
SCV won't be there? Is there news you want to share that a little birdy told you...

Lots or response but it means nothing. Very DCP.
