  1. The first competition I ever attended was somewhere in Florida in 1972, marching with the Miami Silhouettes. The first competition I ever saw was later that summer, the American Legion Nationals in Chicago. 34 years later, and I'm still hooked!
  2. Yeah - I'm flying from San Diego to Nashville on Friday morning, then driving to Cookeville. I'll then be driving to the ATL early Saturday morning, doing the Dome on Saturday, and flying back to San Diego on Sunday.....YEAH BABY!!
  3. ....as if I didn't feel bad enough about not going to Madison, now you have to start this thread? The closest ranked course to Madison would be University Ridge.. It's about eight miles SW of Madison. Of course, I'd love to play Whistling Straits, but that's more than two hours out of Madison. Looking forward to next year....there are lots of GREAT courses to play here in Southern California.
  4. I started dieting & exercising this past December, right around the time my family bought me an iPod. So far, I've lost 25 pounds (that I've put on in the 27 years since I aged out). I probably listen to corps about 1/2 the time, and currently the 2006 APD's are on top of the list, so I will be familiar with the shows when I go East later this month. My workout favorite? - BD 2004: SummerTrain Blues Mix
  5. I've seen them twice in Southern California, and loved their show (but then again, I always do). I certainly hope that they'll make the Masters of the Summer Music Games show on July 28th. Based on the current rankings they're living on the edge.....
  6. I've got to agree with Madison 1976. That was a fun season: They came in 2nd while defending their 1st DCI championship; The Bicentennial was being celebrated throughout the summer; Stars & Stripes forever was played both by Scouts & Bridgemen; Blue Devils debuted Channel One Suite and win their 1st championship.
  7. Being a USC Trojan fan (and also someone whose high school band played Conquest in 1971), I love that Boston always throws in the Conquest teasers. I'm liking this show too....looking forward to seeing them in Atlanta.
  8. I'll be there....bringing some newbies from the San Diego Symphony
  9. I'd LOVE to...unfortunately there are no West Coast APD's available yet......
  10. I was just watching the DCI Cam of Boston Crusaders from tonight's show in Indy, featuring their performance of Candide. Right toward the end of the piece (around the 2:30 mark on the clip) the corps does a chant. To me it sounds like "BEAT S.C." Am I hearing that right?
  11. OMG - Drum Corps Fans and Dolphin fans commiserating on the same thread (note my ID)!
  12. Sorry folks - These seats have been sold. I'm impressed.....I put out the word on DCP, and got contacted by the buyer within an hour. See you all in Denver!
  13. I have two awesome sets of tickets for Denver. These are for the Quarters/Semis/Finals. The Quarters and Semis are in Section 337...Finals are in Section 309. We had originally bought four seats, but only two of us can make the trip. I am willing to sell these at face value....SEE YOU IN DENVER!!
