  1. SCV will proudly return to the field in 2024. Wouldn't surprise me if they make top six.
  2. SCV will indeed be competing in 2024. Not only that, but they will be in the top six.
  3. The color guard part of drum corps shows should change with the times. For example, why are they still called guard? Who are they guarding? Rifles, Sabres, really? All military terms from the beginnings of drum corps. Even Winter Guard International should change their name. How does that name reflect today's activity, and what they are doing, as some kind of art performance?
  4. I wonder if an all-male guard can compete with today's brilliant co-ed top four guards: Boston, BD, Bluecoats, Crown. When is the last time Cavies won Guard? The color guard is a much bigger part of shows than in the past.
  5. With the Cavies now having the the number one percussion line, will their current staff be able to put a better show together in 2024? I think they will, and expect them to be back in the top six, if not higher.
  6. Worst move: Crossmen to San Antonio. They now have to travel thousands of miles, if they wish to compete before the Texas tour begins mid-July.
  7. A few shows do have combined DCI World/Open/All age line-ups. Rochester has a 10 corps line-up. One issue is that the All-age corps are limited to weekend only shows, so they cannot be included in weeknight ones.
  8. Can't remember the last time Rochester, NY hosted a DCI show. Pretty good line-up too, with a combination of 10 World Class and All-age corps. Anyone else live in Rochester who might remember?
  9. San Antonio has a 23 corps line-up! Going, even though it will be 104 on the Riverwalk.
  10. Everyone, except Boston area fans, should be happy with the schedule.
  11. 9 of the top 12 bands in Indy came from two states: Texas and Indiana.
  12. Did anyone get an email from Flo about a class action lawsuit? According to Reddit, they settled a class action lawsuit for sharing subscribers info with Facebook, and automatically renewing subscriptions without consent. $2.6 million. Anyone know more about this?
  13. Sweeny Todd must be performed by Phantom--the murder-happy corps.
  14. Will the All-age corps get paid for contests the same as the World Class corps? Anyone know?
  15. We will see how many DCI shows they are slotted for in a few days. Hope they get good turn-outs for their November camps.
  16. The Bristol parade pays among the best in the country. Would seem to make sense to have two Boston area shows 4th of July weekend, with corps having the opportunity to march the Bristol parade--the best 4th of July parade in the country.
  17. Wasn't the Glassboro, NJ show the Cadets home show? Will that show be gone now? I'd argue there is no reason for not having five East Coast shows the first week of July. The shows could easily feature at least seven corps: Boston, Crown, Spartans, Caballeros, Hurricanes, Fusion Core, Skyliners. Jersey Surf, if they come out. Two shows in NJ/PA, Annapolis, two shows in the Boston area. Quincy and Lawrence, or other venues. The merger of All-age corps into DCI makes it possible for full line-ups at any East Coast venue.
  18. The Canton/Akron Bluecoats shows always gets a stellar line-up. As does Murfreesboro. But the East coast is now basically reduced to Allentown weekend. East coast fans, New England, New Jersey deserve a few good shows over the 4th of July weekend. The Clifton show is gone, the Beanpot/Lynn show is gone.
  19. The Boston 4th of July shows could add three All-age corps, along with Boston, Spartans, Bluecoats or Crown.Perhaps Spirit. Most of the 12 All-age corps are located on the East coast, and could now fill out any DCI shows held in those states.
  20. SCV will make the top six in their first year back. Drum corps most iconic corps is going to shock people, especially the Vanguard haters. Can't wait for San Antonio.
  21. What will the 2024 tour look like? Similar to 2023, with corps mostly staying in their respective areas the first couple of weeks? Will the Boston 4th of July shows get a better line-up? With the Cadets gone, will the Bluecoats or Crown head up to Boston?
  22. Only thing wrong with "us" are the gloomy Gus seniors who populate DCP. Drum corps is thriving, and 2024 will see the finest DCI finals ever. Estimated attendance: 24,000. Hopefully minus 50% of the regular contributors to this antiquated forum.
  23. A guy named Elmo James is doing a Gofundme for a supposed new corps, Metropolis, out of NYC. Anyone know if this is for real? Would love to see a Big Apple drum corps back in action.
