  1. Windsor Regiment 2013 Show Announcement West Windsor, NJ - December 30, 2012 As we enter our third year of field competition Windsor Regiment is pleased to present: We open the show with the serene “Flower Duet,” by Delibes', as we sow the seeds of our burgeoning garden. The celebration begins with the joy of daisies and a rousing and playful interpretation of “The Candide Overture,” by Leonard Bernstein. As we journey deeper in to our garden we capture the beauty and passion of the timeless classic, “The Rose,” by Amanda McBroom; made famous by Bette Midler. The majesty and harmony of pastoral lilies take over as we enter the closing number of our show with the “Appalachian Spring Suite,” by Aaron Copland before experiencing our garden in full bloom with a rousing and crowd-pleasing medley ending. Windsor Regiment still has membership openings in all sections of the corps, however they are filling up fast. If you are interested in being a part of the 2013 Windsor Regiment, please fill out our membership form. Our next rehearsal for Brass and Percussion will be held on Sunday, January 20th at Robbinsville High School. All are invited to attend!
  2. The Windsor Regiment is excited to announce that their full design team will be returning for the 2013 season with some exciting new faces that are going to continue to add to the Windsor tradition! Chris Kilian will be returning to bring his powerful and exciting brass arrangements to the Windsor Regiment. Partnered with the lyrical percussion design of JR Bechtel, the team will continue to hone the unique Windsor style. Rob Pacitti will be returning for his second season with the corps as drill designer and chief colorguard designer. In addition, the Windsor Regiment is very excited to bring the talented Jude Boughton of the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps, the Blackwatch Independent World Guard, and the Round Rock High School Dragon Band in to the mix as a consultant and program designer. Joseph Heininger and A Wish Come True will again be designing the dresses for the lovely ladies of the Windsor Regiment Colorguard. We are pleased to announce the promotion of Tyler Wiesnusz to Brass Caption Head. Assisting Tyler on the brass support staff are Lauren Bond, Zach Tempone, Joelle Varner, and Ernesto Lara. We are also pleased to announce the promotion of Aaron Christopher to Percussion caption head. Assisting Aaron will be Rocco Richardson, Nick Buddock, and Trish Witt who will be heading the Pit Ensemble. Jaclyn Rae Dolan and Hannah Kinsey will be returning to our colorguard team as co-designers and technicians. The corps is currently accepting members in all sections: brass, color guard, and percussion. If you are interested in more information fill out our contact form. For directions click here. Our next rehearsal is Sunday, January 20th for Brass and Percussion. Come on out!
  3. That mission was accomplished, absolutely. Now that we've put down some roots it's time to grow.
  4. Thanks for the thoughts. Glad you enjoyed the show.
  5. Thanks, Jeff, for the honest review. It was a high risk, high reward show, and it's always difficult for MOST corps to anticipate what their numbers are going to be....especially for a 2nd year drum corps! The risk/reward thing worked to our benefit in the shows after Wildwood to be sure. I think you'll really dig what we come out with in 2013. I know I'm always learning and so is the rest of the team...and we'll never be afraid go go out on a limb when it's appropriate. :) Again, thanks for the thoughts. I look forward to reading your reviews next summer.
  6. Thank you! I hope you're able to see us again in 2013!
  7. Hey, drum corps folks and fans. I work with the Windsor Regiment, a DCA corps in New Jersey. We have a trumpet and a mellophone spot available and are looking for 2 people with experience to jump in there and make a difference. I know every year lots of people think about marching and don’t for many reasons. Here’s an opportunity to jump in to a good corps with great members and an awesome show from now until Labor Day (minus the first weekend in August…we’re off). Think about it and let me know. I’m the brass caption head and arranger and will be happy to answer any questions you might have. Just email me at kilian.chris@gmail.com, PM me here, or fill out the form at www.windsor-regiment.org for info.
  8. Another successful Memorial Day weekend for Windsor Regiment is in the books. WR was seen at parades in Marcus Hook, PA and Freehold, NJ this weekend. In between, we dodged rain drops as we tore into the drill for our 2012 closer, "Angels in the Architecture." We also welcomed new members in several sections. The corps still has a few spots, and we're looking for experienced (band or drum corps) musicians or dancers/spinners who are looking for an intense and intensely rewarding drum corps experience. You won't find a more dedicated crew (members, staff, and administration) around, so come on out and be a part of something that is going to be very special in 2012. www.windsor-regiment.org
  9. Windsor Regiment is pleased to announce that we will be participating in the Holyoke, MA St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday, March 18th. This is always a great spring "kick off" event for quite a few corps here in the Northeast, and we are excited to march in the oldest St. Patty's Day parade in the United States. If you're up there, come check us out at our first public performance of 2012!
  10. Windsor Regiment just completed our first March rehearsal. The corps' rehearsal facility has a wonderful astro-turf stadium, and the corps made good use of it on Saturday by learning around 1:30 of the drill for our opening production of "Stained Glass." This impressive production, entitled "Angels in the Architecture," is really starting to come to life, and all were excited to get to work on the visual portion of the show. The brass and percussion focused on the first half of our closer, "Angels in the Architecture," in ensemble rehearsal and great strides were made in all aspects of the musical production. The creative team is hard at work connecting the program together, and work continues on polishing the total production from a creative standpoint. There's so much going on behind the scenes and at rehearsals, that excitement and morale is high as we begin to wind down our winter season. The brass line will continue work on Saturday, 3/17 in Robbinsville, NJ. The following day, 3/18, the entire corps will make our first public appearance of the year in a St. Patrick's Day parade! The brass will report from 10am-6pm on Saturday, and the entire corps will report at 6am on Sunday. More information on Sunday will become available shortly. This weekend is a great opportunity for you to jump in! The corps is filling up fast in every section, but a few spots remain. We are specifically looking for a trumpet or two, a baritone, a euphonium, mallet players, and a snare drummer. We're looking for experienced individuals who match our vibe...hard working, energetic, and a desire to be the best at what you do. We WILL fill this drum corps...sooner rather than later! Will YOU be one of them? Could be. Don't let this opportunity pass you by. This is definitely going to be a show and a drum corps that people talk about for a long time. If you're interested, please visit www.windsor-regiment.org and fill out our membership form. Someone will be in touch with you right away. The BEST way to answer all of your questions and get a good sense for what Windsor Regiment is all about is to come out to our next rehearsal. Jump right in. We won't make you sign anything...but we're confident that you'll want to by the time you leave. Just a few spots left and we're full. Take one of those spots! You won't regret it. Windsor Regiment March Rehearsal #2 & St. Patrick's Day Parade Saturday, March 17th. 10am-6pm Sunday, March 18th. 6am-TBA Robbinsville High School 150 Robbinsville Edinburg Road Robbinsville, NJ
  11. Windsor Regiment is pushing into March with energy and excitment. The winter season is coming to a close and the membership, staff, and administration are all looking forward to putting our 2012 production "Angels in the Architecture" on the grass! This past weekend the brass was able to learn our ballad, Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." This popular song, arranged by our own Chris Kilian, is infused with a beautiful chorale from "Angels in the Architecture" by Frank Ticheli and will really give you something to hum on the way home! There are also a few surprises which we can't divulge right now...but we'll definitely give you something maybe you haven't seen or heard before. The corps will resume work on 3/3 and 3/4 in Robbinsville, NJ. The brass will report from 10am-6pm on Saturday, March 3rd, and the entire corps will report from 10am-5pm on Sunday, March 4th. Each section will be learning new music, so it's a great opportunity for you to jump in! The corps is filling up fast in every section, but a few spots remain. We are specifically looking for a trumpet or two, a baritone, a euphonium, mallet players, and one bass drummer. 12. Spots are being gobbled up as I type this! We need a couple trumpets, a baritone, a euphonium, a bass drum, and a couple pit members. We're in spectacular shape, the corps has most of the show down, and we're actually teaching some of the visual program this weekend. February 19th, 10am-5pm. Robbinsville High School. Be a part of it!
  13. Bud Johnson brough Rip to help out at Archbishop Ryan HS when I was there. He was a nice guy and always said hi to me when I'd see him at DCA shows. This is sad news indeed.
  14. Windsor Regiment just finished an extremely successful rehearsal weekend in which the corps continued to tackle the challenging show material and make huge strides forward in quality and execution. We welcomed even more new faces to the fold, and the corps wrapped up the weekend with a powerful and energetic ensemble rehearsal. The corps' opener, "Stained Glass" continues to evolve and mature. This is a difficult production, but one that will "wow" audiences and draw them into our "cathedral" on turf. There are fast, rhythmic passages, lush melodic passages, and even a fugue that helps to bring the piece to a rousing conclusion. Brass and percussion will get back together on Sunday, February 19th for a one day power rehearsal. Each section will be learning new music, so it's a great opportunity for you to jump in! The corps is filling up fast in every section, but a few spots remain. We are specifically looking for a trumpet or two, a baritone, a euphonium, mallet players, and one bass drummer. 15. Just a few days away! Come play a great book, march a great drill, and be around an awesome group of people!
  16. The Windsor Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps has been hard at work all month long. With a full camp weekend shortly after the new year and a one day POWER rehearsal this past weekend, the ever-growing membership is well over halfway through the show music and is performing it at a very high level. The corps, while very close to being full, is still looking for a few musicians and those with color guard experience to round out the 2012 corps. This is going to be a powerful, driven group playing a very aggressive and exciting show. Building on the popularity of our 2011 program "Tango Nuevo," "Angels in the Architecture" is taking our show design to a whole new level. With the addition of Rob Pacitti as the visual and color guard designer and the return of JR Bechtel as percussion arranger and Chris Kilian as brass arranger, Windsor Regiment is taking that next step towards developing our individual voice and presence in the drum corps activity. While the pieces may be familiar to some drum corps fans, the treatment will be very distinctly Windsor Regiment. Everyone in the corps is excited to be a part of writing the history of our corps, forging our distinct place in the activity, and being the foundation on which this great corps is being built. Consider joining us. Our next rehearsal weekend is February 4th and 5th at Robbinsville High School. Saturday is brass only, and we'll be there from 10am-6pm. Sunday is a full corps rehearsal (brass, battery, pit, color guard) from 10-5. If you're interested in more information, visit us on the web at www.windsor-regiment.org. There you will find our entire winter/spring schedule as well as a form you can fill out to contact us for more information. RSVP to our Facebook Event and follow us on Facebook and Twitter! 2012 will be a very special year for Windsor Regiment. We hope to have YOU with us!
  17. WINDSOR REGIMENT WINTER UPDATE Looking ahead... Windsor Regiment will be hosting our first rehearsal weekend of the 2012 calendar year on Saturday and Sunday January 7-8 at Robbinsville High School. The brass section will rehearse on Saturday and Sunday. The percussion and color guard sections will rehearse on Sunday only due to indoor obligations. The corps has recently expanded its brass section and is looking for a few more players. We are also accepting members in our front ensemble (pit), battery, and color guard. If you have interest in joining any of our sections, please go to www.windsor-regiment.org immediately and fill out our membership form. We do not expect the spots to last, so jump on board now and be a part of Windsor Regiment in 2012!! Rehearsal will be from 10-6 on Saturday for brass only and 10-5 on Sunday with all sections in attendence. All rehearsals are at Robbinsville High School. What's been going on... We held our 2nd rehearsal camp of the year on December 17-18. Brass and percussion were in on both days, and the color guard joined us on Sunday. By the end of the weekend the brass and percussion performed a full ensemble run of our 2012 opener, "Stained Glass" by David Gillingham. The design team of JR Bechtel (percussion), Chris Kilian (brass), and Rob Pacitti (visual) raved about the progress of the drum corps, noting that the maturity of the membership and the drive and work ethic were incredible. This is a motivated drum corps that is not resting on its laurels after a successful 2011 season in which we made Class A Finals in our first year on the grass. Expect great things from Windsor Regiment in 2012. The corps is pleased to announce that our drum majors for 2012 will be Zachary Gursky and Heather Kulp. Both are vets of Windsor Regiment; Zach was a member of the mellophone section and Heather was an assistant conductor. The two will represent the corps well and are fully capable of providing the leadership required of the position. As a former DCA drum major myself, I'm excited to work with them both and to continue to develop the position of drum major at Windsor Regiment. Members of the 2012 color guard section learned a lot of work at the December camp. This show is going to rely heavily on our color guard and overall visual program, and in watching their progress on Sunday I'm confident that they will be a major strength for us this year. The brass and percussion programs are both exhibiting an impressive amount of power. This will not be a quiet drum corps...that's for sure. The show, while not necessarily completely recognizable (although drum corps fans should recognize our opener and closer...and the ballad is "Hallelujah," an extremely popular song), this is going to be an extremely aggressive production! Tempos are fast, time signatures flip all over the place, and the impacts are well conceived. People say this every year, but there really is something for every type of drum corps fan in this show. There are highs, lows, louds, softs, fast, slow, and everything in between. There are beautiful, lyrical sections, rhythmic and exciting passages, and big, loud, lush chorales. You may leave humming "Hallelujah" or drumming on your steering wheel to "Stained Glass" or "Angels in the Architecture." We hope to move you in some way. That's our complete focus with this show. So...Windsor Regiment is chugging right along! This time last year we still had not hosted our first rehearsal. This time last year Windsor Regiment was still a dream soaked in ambition. Now, here we are 2 rehearsals into our 2nd season and preparing for our 3rd. Not bad at all. There are still spots available. The corps has recently decided to expand our horn line by 2 spots, so there are a couple more spots available in our trumpet and baritone sections. The drum line is nearly full, but we have a few key positions that we want to fill immediately! We have pit spots and a few guard spots still available as well. Windsor Regiment is close to being full, but we want YOU to fill out those last spots. Visit us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and definitely contact us on our website if you would like information on how to become a member of the Windsor Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps!

  19. We're very excited about this show. The design process has been a pleasure to be a part of so far. Is it Wildwood yet???
  20. Just a note to all that the location information for our Membership Weekend has been updated. Our usual facility, Robbinsville HS, is not available the weekend of the 19-20th. So, we have moved these rehearsals to other schools in the district, all wonderful facilities with enough space for all of our needs. Saturday's rehearsal will still be from 10-6, but now at Pond Middle School, which is literally right around the corner from the high school. The corps usually rehearses on the grass on Saturday's during the summer here, so this facility will be familiar to all returning members. Sunday's rehearsal will be held from 10-5 at Sharon Elementary School, a facility also familiar to returning members. See the post above for links and addresses. If you have any questions or are interested in marching, contact us on our website at www.windsor-regiment.org/membership_form.php or contact our recruitment coordinator, Jeremy, at 410-721-3269.
  21. Windsor Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps will be performing at the Robbinsville HS band show (USSBA) on Saturday, October 29th. Members of our brass and percussion sections will be performing our 2011 show "Tango Nuevo." Staff, members, and administration will be on hand during and after the show to meet the attendees, students, and bands staffs, and membership information for 2012 will be available. While not all of our members from 2011 could attend the event, there will be plenty of power and sound! If you're in the Robbinsville area on Saturday night, consider coming to the show! 155 Robinsville - Edinburg Rd Robbinsville NJ 08691 ------------------------------------------- Membership Weekend - November 19 (10am-6pm), November 20 (10am-5pm). www.windsor-regiment.org
  22. Windsor Regiment has been very quiet since making finals in our first season in competition. It was an exciting weekend for the corps. We would like to thank all of the drum corps fans who cheered for us and supported us this season. It's never easy being the new kid on the block, but we worked hard to give you something a little different. We hope that you're looking forward to seeing what we have in store for you in the future. Since that weekend in Rochester, the corps has been hard at work securing more equipment, solidifying the staff, and putting together a great program. We will have lots to announce at our Membership Day, but in the meantime here are some nuggets from Windsor Regiment: #1.) Windsor Regiment is pleased to announce that, in addition to the return of the 2011 design team, Rob Pacitti will be taking the reigns as Drill Designer and Visual Caption Head in 2012. Rob's teaching and design experience boasts many championships and top 3 finishes in both the band and indoor world. His work with many groups in S.E. Pennsylvania (including C.B. West and Norristown) is creative, fresh, and bold. He is already making his mark on the corps with his help and insight in the design of our program. We are excited to have him on board for 2012. #2.) The Windsor Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps is pleased to announce that our 2012 Membership Day and First Rehearsal Weekend will be held on Saturday, November 19th and Sunday, November 20th. All returning and prospective members are invited to attend and learn about the corps, the show, meet the administration and expanded staff, and participate in rehearsal. We are excited to kick off our second competitive season in DCA! What: Membership Day and First Rehearsal When: Saturday, Nov. 19 10am-6pm; Sunday, Nov. 20 10am-5pm.
