2023 DCI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS
SJugster replied to arabica's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Do we need a Finals Gate tracker as a thread? Last year was horrible -
I’ll be honest. Not a fan of the snares being on the riser at the end. We all knew the leg kick was coming. Good job for doing what we wanted Regiment.

You should see some changes soon. i think they are putting some changes on the field tonight.

Battle At The Alamo(dome) - July 22,2023
SJugster replied to Barneveld's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Just hit play on the CD and have them dance to it. Oh and play a couple absolutely flawless notes in their brass section. Top 3 easy. I am old but I don't like the new trend. can you tell? -
Regiment T-shirt Giveaway!
SJugster replied to Rocketman's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
you don't know how much the current members love this. many are wearing them all the time. My son is said to have 7 of them and wears them often!! He can't wait to give back too -
where would one get this shared tape?

Was at practice yesterday... More tarps for tonight
-
Let me also add that the staff is 100% committed to keeping the members hydrated while in Texas. Was with them most of the day yesterday and it was very apparent that this is a top concern. Not sure if it was learned due to the what happened in Broken Arrow but I am pretty confident that it wont happen again.

Guys/gals/peoples none of us were there so for us to question the decision is ludicrous. As a parent of one of the members on the bus, this was the right decision. There were kids who were struggling, mightily. Was there poor decisions made? Yes!! Was the decision to back out of the show one of those decisions? ABSOLUTELY NOT I will not get in to the situation and the health impacts I have been told but this was the right decision. I will also say we need to support the percussion members when we get a chance. Its real easy for them to get down on themselves as what is bringing the corps down this year. Moral is high across the corps however the perc members feel they are letting the corps down.

Bluecoats, BD, and SA (TW: Sexual Assault)
SJugster replied to GetOFFmyDot's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I’m not getting into any of those things most here are. I feel I am not equipped well enough to give an opinion so I will sit this one out. With that said has there been much conversation about what BD is gonna do? -
GE went up and Music went down... interesting

FYI for those who are looking forward to tonight and the changes mentioned in the last vLog, It isn't happening tonight. No tarps or major updates. Those will be revealed over the weekend it seems. hopefully it is ok for me to spill these beans
-
i don't think your opinion is a bad one nor worth discussing however the way you ask the question has something left to be desired
-
i guess you didn't get the response you liked the first time you complained so you decided to create a new message to gain more focus. Congrats

the tarps are not gone. They need to work through the process of adding and removing the tarps. I would be surprised they are not in the next show
-
what I am being told about the percussion scores is that they are behind the brass so often that judges aren't getting enough of a read on them. It makes sense when you look at BAC and how many percussion breaks they have compared to PR. Changes are going in to try and help this from what I hear.

I wasn't trying to set up any animosity but trying to learn. I know corps will go up and down for a number of reasons (show changes that work/don't, tired members, good/bad moral, lighting in a bottle, etc...) just curious why the same comment was mentioned a number of times. Once is ignorable (not a word but I made it up and it works), twice is interesting and 10+ is noticeable and was curious. All in all it is just conjecture this early in the season. With that said I was told there are some changes going in soon including at least one tonight. Not sure what they are but i hope they are impactful.

that would be a great place... I like both but agree #2

I have watched and enjoyed DCI for close to 30 years. I never marched (life decisions and ability kept me out) but I kept up as much as I could and have enjoyed Regiment almost the whole time during this 30 years. I also have someone who currently marches in the show so I am a bit biased. What I don't get is the comments in this forum from many that say things like BS/Cavies have more of an upside on Regiment. Can someone explain how a corps who is 3 points below another corps and the gap is being widened have a higher upside? I know changes happen throughout the year for ALL Corps to improve their scores (this they swing and miss or things that worked so well they want to enhance those moments) but do people think BS/Cavies staff will make the needed improvements but Regiment wont?
