  1. I think Daffinee really solidifies a lot of what they're trying to do visually, and brings it in line with what Starnes, Saucedo, and company are looking for.
  2. Thanks! Speaking of, we've updated with Crossmen bringing Ray Ulibarri and a couple of the Reagan people into the fold when it comes to drums. Love their books, and it'll be a short commute for them. Interested to see what happens when it comes to who they bring on in charge of visual, both design and instruction.
  3. Expect full staff announcement from Vanguard later today. Many holdovers, some new.
  4. Monster get on the design side for SCV. https://generaleffectmedia.substack.com/p/scv-dan-morrison Morrison in, Koter left. Edit: clarification
  5. Largely the same on design, Bart Woodley and Scott Koter are out, Dan Morrison in.

  7. His drill for Reagan last year had some super Early-2000s Cavies-esque moments, and a whole lot of intention in some really cool ways. He wasn’t on my bingo card to take the leap into the DCI drill writing world but he should fit in extremely well with that team, more so than some of the other names I heard connected to that job.
  8. I’m curious as to why you think he initiated it or maintains it.
  9. Yep, that decision was made this morning, members have been doing laundry and Walmart runs from what i’ve heard. I definitely respect this decision.
  10. Likely 5e or later, I have been told Cavies have pulled out already, but have not heard anything regarding anyone beyond them. Would not be surprised to see the show pushed forward without them, but additionally wouldn't be surprised to see it called out and trying it again in Munice on Friday.
  11. https://twitter.com/GenEffectMedia/status/1578576302734467072?s=20&t=CfcPewfOi4mr9xcgbSTDJA
  12. If they'd done an all out blitz in NE in 2018, BOA would own the entire market nationally right now
  13. I have it on good authority that at least as of a few years ago they were intentionally not holding shows up in the NE because it was "USBands Territory"
  14. Oh man, I wrote The Recap Recap and I host the podcast! Thanks so much!! We're trying to produce the kind of content we would want to consume. If any of y'all have thoughts or feedback please don't hesitate to DM
  15. Heard good things from the HW crew about their performance in Statesboro, though scores weren't released. We'll see if they can build on that through the week.
  16. Just bringing this post back up for some of y'all that may have missed it. Depending on the corps, you don't have to rely on the rebroadcast. It does seem like they're prioritizing mostly finalist groups which is certainly frustrating for our non finalist and open class friends, but also, this feels like the closest to FanNetwork we're ever gonna get again (who knows if the prioritization is intentional or just how how rights happened to work out). Right now from what I'm seeing it looks like they have rights so far to: Boston SCV Cavaliers Mandarins Phantom Crossmen Academy
  17. The idea as of a few weeks back was potentially getting social media to vote on where it starts and ends. Who knows if that changes after they see the reaction from last night, or just face logistical issues in making it happen (wanting to make sure the pre show run matches the show of the night).
  18. On the subject of ballad closers, 2012 Colts still is one of my absolute favorites for that.
  19. So with all of the rumors swirling around, I was wondering what everyone's favorite I&E performance they ever saw, in person or online, was.
  20. I've been told by staff that their formal show announcement will be that day, so I'm looking forward to it.
  21. A thing I didn't mention in this is that it's really interesting to see what they do with this considering that they won't be able to utilize transitions in a way that we're accustomed to seeing. So many corps use that as a way to get from one movement to the next, and Crossmen straight up won't be able to do that, considering they need to be ready to start or end the show where those would usually take place.
  22. Generally, if there's a break in the action for audience applause or what have you, that can signify the end of one movement and beginning of the next.
