  1. Definitely want Crown to come out guns ablaze and a clear front runner from day 1. Hopefully, they’ll have elevated their show design, drill, and props this year too.
  2. I’m yearning for a super dark show this year. I feel like it’s been some time since we had a great one in the top mix. What made you think it sounded ominous? Lots of low brass? Was it aggressive? I’m dying for these themes to come out already. 😂
  3. Literally twins. That’s what I was thinking! But I suspect, it’ll be more like The Cutouts where they pick a musician from that era and symbolize them.
  4. I’m with you there too. Hugely cheered BC in 2016 and SCV in 2018. I was on the BAC, Crown, and PR trains last season bc I felt they were taking risks and doing something new/elevated (even if I did think BD had the best show). It’s good to pull for our fellow corps and lift them up.
  5. If they did a flip and made it about a murderous couple, I’d be ecstatic.
  6. Gosh, we are very aligned. When Ghostlight was announced I was rejoicing thinking we were in for some wicked minors beating us down again. I was bummed when I first saw it, not bc it was bad, but bc I had a totally different desire. They still put out a good product, per usual. I don’t think we will be getting dark show with a theme of The Romantics. But who knows?! Im always wrong on here…lol. Maybe they want to subvert expectations and throw us a surprise.
  7. Unquestionably, “Methods of Madness” is my favorite. That show and season was epic, and I remember being shocked seeing BD do something as dark and twisty. And man, they killed it. I was really hoping Ghostlight was going to be a return to the dark side, but it didn’t lean into it as much as I thought in pre-season. I’d love to see BD dabble with gut wrenching minor cords again, coupled with their modern execution and show design. Ugh. It’d be the stuff dreams are made of.
  8. I do too. Because when they do, they are usually successful and we get a gem like “Methods of Madness.”
  9. Boston isn’t winning year after year running the same playbook, but I digress. BDs current run is like the Cavies using original music and crazy drill in the 2000s, and people were eventually ready for a change. Lots of people are ready to see BD bring something new to the table. They are great enough to take a risk, imo.
  10. I liked their show last year, and I’m sure they’ll do something great this year too. That said, I’m def ready to see them shakeup their formula. Maybe they’ll experiment with not using a bunch of rolling props that become a stage, a running follow-the-leader entrance, and costume rip-aways this year.
  11. I can see the field now. Let’s get ready for some prop cutouts of abstract saxophones, trumpets, and pianos that standup, turn around to reveal different colors, and then fold to the ground to be one a stage.
  12. My high school marched the Cadets 2000 show….it was such a blast. That second part of the opener called “Chaos” was wild and challenging. So it’s a special show that I’m super bonded too.
  13. Any rumors yet about PRs theme or music? Excited to see what they follow up last year with!
  14. It looked hard when I saw it. Any band nerd who has marched stretched across the field like that knows how well SCV executed something very complex. SCV 1999-2004 was fire. Ughh. I loved those shows.
  15. I really hope they do Asphalt Cocktail in the show this year. It’d be a wild ride. Hopefully, whatever new he comes up with is insane and dark like that.
  16. 2000 was epic, for real. Methods of Madness remains my favorite BD show to date. I love how every now and then they take a break from jazz and go totally dark and weird. Fingers crossed we get dark and weird this year.
  17. I love me some SCV. I’d be elated to see them gun for first this season. But they are more likely to have a rebuilding year, I presume.
  18. I loved that opener to this show. All I could think about is how hard it’d be to play that stretched across the 4 corners of the field.
  19. RHRN had an excellent book top to bottom. I understand why it was thematically controversial, but that music was fire 🔥
  20. Cavies Frameworks was my all time stunner live. I’ll never forget the audience buzz after that show. Everyone was stunned by the drill and visuals.
