No it doesn't. DCI is the brand name. When someone says Drum Corps International people think about the 50+ year history of it.

Those schools dominate because of the coaches they hire. Those same schools have had down periods when they made bad hires, except for Duke who is changing coaches for the first time in decades. I never thought I would see the Cadets and Cavaliers fall to non-contenders and have a year where BAC, Bloo and Crown were all in the top 4, but time leads to change.

Silver is not a slot, it’s an award for 2nd place. I can’t think of a single competitive event that’s gives third place to someone that’s has three people/groups in front of them.

A lot of corps have repetitive design choices, that kind of what happened when the same staff designs multiple shows over the years. They just put a different coat of paint on it.

They used GE as a tie breaker before. I don’t know exactly why they abandoned it, but I don’t think a caption should determine a winner.
