  1. I was at the retreat pizza show (as a member of the bluecoats drumline) we couldn't believe it when we looked over at Glassmen and the drumline was eating pizza on the field during retreat.
  2. chaperoning members who are over 18 and adults is a little bit tricky as well.
  3. colts caught the bad end of that stick as well, going on before PC and the intermission with Troopers going on three corps after intermission
  4. usually when they meet up with the east, the east scores fall in lline with the higher west coast scores. BD doesn't come out of the first meet up 2-3 points above their actual competition.
  5. is this the first time they've beaten the Blue Knights in a show? and they didn't just squeek by either, they went from a point down to a point and a half ahead of them. good job PC, would love to see them in the top 12 this summer
  6. I think we may see a Pacific Crest Finals placement before either of the other two events occurring
  7. The International was used to account for the canadian corps at the time of DCI's creation.
  8. It was just an observation of what I saw while watching the show. watch the show and tell me I'm wrong. I usually like what BD puts out, but I feel this show is lacking, but then again I have not seen it live yet so that opinion may change.
  9. I'm curious as to why the start of the season is much later, did cancelling 20 and 21 cause a lot of the smaller shows drop out of hosting a show and thus there weren't enough hosts to start the season earlier?
  10. what I took away from watching boston's show on video was that it looked to me like a design that a small to midsize corps staff would create that was being performed by a top corps. just doesn't seem to have enough to keep up. That all could change when I see it live and get a different read, but that's the take I got from the video
  11. when they move they are running to a new spot. when they play difficult musical parts they stand still, and when they are marching and playing it seems like they are moving in half time to the music. looks very slow and boring when I watched it. I know that should change when I see it live, but it doesn't change the fact that they are running more than marching, and only move when playing basic parts and nothing overly difficult.
  12. when there was still a show in toledo, Ohio they used to advertise it on the radio.
  13. I walked past the line up to go downtown around 5pm, came back around 5:30/5:45 and saw the long line, but saw a smaller line of people walking towards the gates so we followed them. got up to the gate to see the long line was basically growing out of the first 1 or 2 gates, walked past that and into the line for like the 5th or 6th gate, stood in that for about 5-10 minutes then got our tickets scanned, and my wife opened her purse for them to look into. then we went into the stadium and were in our seats in time to see the Marines perform
  14. I don't know, the bluecoats had 5 rookies (to them) marching their bass line this year and they still took home the Sanford
  15. i exited through the north gates when the show ended, not sure why they were locked for you
  16. yes, we had some members have to pull out due to medical or other reasons after the final numbers had been set and the drill was written. there was an invitation sent to a few Glassmen as well as family members of alumni. We had a small number of non Bluecoats alumni step up and fill the unexpected holes and we appreciated each and every one of them. Our youngest member was the 14 yr old son of two former members who were both marching in the Alumni Corps as well, so they all got to march together.
  17. it was Frank Pasquerelli (sp), the soloist from the beginning of Autumn Leaves in 1987 & 1988, that passed a few years ago, not the screamer.
  18. scoring should be based on relativity to others in that show and how the corps performed in that show. first corps on should get a score based on the sheets and the judges best interpretation of those sheets. 2nd corps on should be given a score commensurate with how much better or worse the judge assessed them to be in relation to the previous corps and give them a number accordingly. rinse and repeat through the remainder of the corps.
  19. they are pajamas, the guy just woke up at the end, they are no longer in the dream but awake and wearing the pajamas they went to sleep in. the regular uniform is the crazy dream outfit.
  20. big loud and live is usually Prelims (thursday night) and that is everyone but they only show the last 15 in the theater show. Semi's went back to being top 25 a few years ago, I would assume that will remain, plus you will get the bonus of seeing the 430 member Bluecoats 50th anniversary Alumni corps perform at the end of Semis. Finals will still be 12, unless there is a tie for 12th in Semis
  21. Bluecoats 1982-1988 Royal Lancers Senior 1991 Bushwackers Senior 1995 Chesapeake Junior 1996 staff (until we folded) Kingston Grenadiers Sr. 1997 Staff (And Marched Bari - Didn't play though) Bluecoats Alumni Corps -2022 - 6th Bass (of 8 )
  22. well if you marched in the 80's then crown didn't exist since their first year was 1990
  23. I have heard that the Bloo run wasn't very solid last night with some music issues. So if they tighten that back up they should be right there with Crown fighting for that 2nd spot
