  1. If you want to know the real reason why JoAnns Fabrics went out of business or why there is a massive white organza shortage on the entire planet, just call FABRIC REGIMENT located in Illinois! WE SHIP!
  2. This is 💯 When I was in pit I always wanted to play ALL of it, especially the weird and fun stuff!!! The weirder the better!
  3. Not sure what kind of magical white organza fabric PR’s got a mill’s worth of on the field this year that still somehow blows around like it’s at a Beyoncé concert while in LOS? …but it DOES add a beautiful tranquil effect. Intended or not- it definitely adds!
  4. One of my seasonal observations and contributions to our group… HUGE KUDOS to whoever is in the Pit on the xylophones with the hard mallets. OMG you are like heaven to hear. This is a skill that sounds like the stuff that made me fall in love with DC in the first place! Specifically you sound like the Ghosts of Cadets 1987 Member(s) who just tore up the front line that year. Whoever you are… THANK YOU for giving me a great season of listening to you just DECIMATE! ”From The Pitline” direct to you… Very very well for these past few years (cuz I know this isn’t your first year with BK- you tore up last year too!)
  5. Yeah- now I’m 3 beers deep and trying to figure out exactly how that statement works out. Because today I heard “1500%” and I’m like, huuuuuuuuh? “Non Zero?” There is NO BUTTON on my desk calculator for that so I’m kinda lost rn.
  6. I LOVE Crown’s “Dude with a goatee in full red garb with the longest red train to hit the runway…” (Multi Cam shows he looks like Dave Navarro…) who just lurks and trolls around the field the whole f*ckin show!!! OMG that’s totally MY part! That’s about all I can provide these days! I’ll just walk round the field to my own soundtrack! This show is extremely tight visually. Still not sure about the mobile Blair Witch sticks- but whatever… it’s abstract I guess.
  7. FINALLY got to see Mandarins via Flo and wow! This sounds like championship contention writing and performing! i didn’t necessarily “get it” and it was a new look and sound for me to get used to (I was from the hot pink era…) but without a doubt this is several notches up from where we have ever been. I mean… a class of its own!!! Moving all those pipes in exact sequential and angular unison motions was a HUGE surprise for me! Now that’s control!! HUGE shoutout to percussion because OMG you killed it. Battery and especially front ensemble!!! I do believe I am going to the Walnut show now!!!
  8. I cannot tell you HOW THRILLED I am to hear this, especially about my beloved Mandarins “Pitline” (that term dates me I completely understand!) Ugh- missing out BIG TIME this weekend. I planned on being up there this Summer for nearly a year to see Sacto and Stanford but it wasn’t in my cards. Maybe I can crash next weekend here in So Cal? Hoping ya’ll are having the most amazing Home Show right now!!! It’s your son’s age out home show, so I know this means an amazing amount of emotion tonight. I’m sure he and you will be very very proud tonight!!!
  9. Best of luck tonight Mandarins! Everyone who is there enjoy their home show!!! I sadly couldn’t scrape up the cheddar for a last minute flight to see Sacto and Stanford shows but I am with you all and the Mandarins in spirit!
  10. You know that NOTHING “automatically unleashes the unyielding fire within…”. than when you tell someone else to “calm down” HAHAHAHA! But without a doubt I do feel like this post may be a little premature. First weekend feelings are hilarious- but people be passionate about their corps! Ummmm… Our Team hasn’t even debuted our show yet… and there is ALWAYS something to say once the Mandarin’s show up to the scene, right? It’s been a delightful and obligatory surprise every year for the past 8- 9 years!!! Usually it sounds like- “Ooooohhh ####… it’s the Mandies! This gonna get good tonight!!!”
  11. ‘93 was crazy and the year where DC pivoted. The shows were all insane and totally different sounding than in ‘92. PR and Star are two huge examples where DC’s of now expanded upon.
  12. Disembodied female voice over during battery feature This cracked me up! “Ghost Girl”
  13. ‘93 Star and Phantom rescaped the entire activity and we just didn’t recognize it at the time. I was a total Star fan and even was ??? with their show in ‘93 initially. But it truly is an amazing show now that it’s had time to mature. Both PR and Star ‘93 were wonderful gifts given to our activity.
  14. I would be eaten up alive if I were to attend one of those meetings. That’s big time.
  15. Absolutely! It’s quite pleasant actually, stop by for a visit and a cocktail! I don’t deny that there is a lot of ego in this industry but I just think it’s unnecessary. It’s one of the more unpleasant sides of DC.
