  1. ‘93 was crazy and the year where DC pivoted. The shows were all insane and totally different sounding than in ‘92. PR and Star are two huge examples where DC’s of now expanded upon.
  2. Disembodied female voice over during battery feature This cracked me up! “Ghost Girl”
  3. ‘93 Star and Phantom rescaped the entire activity and we just didn’t recognize it at the time. I was a total Star fan and even was ??? with their show in ‘93 initially. But it truly is an amazing show now that it’s had time to mature. Both PR and Star ‘93 were wonderful gifts given to our activity.
  4. I would be eaten up alive if I were to attend one of those meetings. That’s big time.
  5. Absolutely! It’s quite pleasant actually, stop by for a visit and a cocktail! I don’t deny that there is a lot of ego in this industry but I just think it’s unnecessary. It’s one of the more unpleasant sides of DC.
  6. I just see no reason for personal ego in DC. Yeah you’re a good instructor and musician but it’s the kids and the talent that truly make it happen. When they get pushed too hard only to serve one persons ego, it just ruins the whole experience for everyone. I think we have seen examples of field shows that have exemplified this unusual problem.
  7. If he truly said that, then he’s pulling an Elon by telling people to #### off. He probably should research how well that’s worked out for Musk lately. Reeks of ego IMHO, but that’s what the internet is for. It can be very unforgiving cuz it’s basically an encyclopedia of receipts. Proof is in the pudding… see ya hopefully at Finals next year. Make it happen, Dude… back it up.
  8. OMG I cannot believe you went through that. I am totally embarrassed for our community to do that to you guys. I was there in ‘93 and I absolutely LOVED Medea. It’s seriously was the catalyst along with PR’s “Revenge Year” that seriously scaled and changed the entire DC community forever… no doubt about it. Without a doubt after Star ‘93 ::#### got changed up:: the bar was totally elevated… and the judges HONESTLY DIDNT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT… Medea changed #### up in our activity. You have GOT to respect that. Star left us with an amazing and propelling gift to the industry. PS- Can I have your autograph?
  9. I loved Star. I really wanted to be in their pitline so badly. My Mom used to work for Bill Cook in admin when we were living in Indiana. I joined the Mandarins in ‘89 during the A60/ DIV 3 era and Mr Cook always kept in touch with me and my brother to see how we were faring. For those years we got to fly to Chicago for tour and then use the Star buses!!! That was a huge win for us as kids. What a treat. One time we drove though our birthplace and our director Raymond Mar stayed up with us way late in the night while we drove through… he was awesome, “Hey Kev… this is where you were born!” as we crossed the train tracks into Terre Haute on the Star buses. if I could ever go back in time and correct one thing that I’ve done- I would have joined Star while they were active. Unfortunately my last year along with them was ‘93 in Jackson MS. I didn’t age out and wished I could have. Biggest regret ever.
  10. Did someone say Mimosas? Yay! What’s the juice to champagne ratio? Hahahaha!🥂
  11. I think a lot of us had this contextual question but let it go for “cinematic effect” it made absolutely no sense but got the crowd to cheer so… I assume the cheese factor is being addressed this upcoming year? Time will tell.
  12. Dude… I do not envy ANY OF THEM. That beginning part and solo went flawless for the most part for the entire year! Then of course… luck would have it that our Semifinals performance would be much a dramatic scramble to make it happen. Nothing. It respect for all of them including the soloist who ADAPTED and adjusted to make it happen in the end. This is what DCI wants to see. Adaptability. Adjusting. Pull through. Excellent share. Love the BTS!
  13. Hard pass. I won’t pay money for that experience and would rather get a beer instead. Yeah, like no one seems to understand why Australia is off my bucket list. Have you see the large spiders that eat snakes? WTF? No really… that’s some James Cameron nightmare #### that I ain’t gonna f*ck with. That’s a continent I will never go to thankyouverymuch! I’m actually good in LA, CA believe it or not… hehehehehe!
  14. 💯 with you. I was raised in Houston TX and we knew a thing or two about spiders and snakes. Unfortunately I was a little kid and knew NOTHING about the sheer terror of water moccasins and rattlesnakes!! No. No. Never. No. Wrong. Bad. Run!!! F*ck that- I’m outta here!!!
  15. Love how BAC had what looked like a 40 year old guard member front and center for your entire show. Dude has serious mad skills though and should have been up with the DM at retreat receiving awards!!! Without a doubt this is the best Boston has ever been, this show had me captivated all season! Like… the closing set- how do you do that color combination lock where things spin around and then everyone is automatically color coordinated in groups together?! That is some straight up MATH there that I don’t get but freaking LOVE! Such a well thought out show! EVERYTHING to you all! You are amazing!!!
