  1. Here’s one, The Academy will return to Finals and place higher then they did in 2016.
  2. Probably attendance. Outside of 2019, they barely get half of the stands full.
  3. The only drawback is it’s in the Central Time Zone.
  4. Something I noticed from the schedule reveal is the TBD, Midwest for the location OC Championships. Are they not returning to Marion? Are they going back to Michigan City or to a completely different location??
  5. I imagine they’ll add another year due to missing 2020.
  6. RIP, had the opportunity to meet him in person a few times Condolences to his family and friends
  7. Update on this: apparently Phantom Regiment assisted with the Beijing groups A LOT. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/16y3aoGrav/?mibextid=wwXIfr
  8. With the first half of the 2020s behind us, I figured I would crunch some numbers to see how each World Class corps has done in the first four seasons of competition this decade. Just a couple of rules before we go a bit forward. First, all averages are from the final performance of each corps. So, if a corps had a higher score before their final score, it wouldn’t be counted towards the averages. Second, I’m including corps who have only competed in 3 seasons (i.e. Santa Clara Vanguard, Jersey Surf, Spirit of Atlanta and Seattle Cascades) since they have competed more than 50 percent of the decade. That being said, I will not be including The Cadets, as they only competed in two seasons. Finally, I will be including the Spartans, as they are currently pending their World Class membership. That being said, let’s get to the numbers. Averages: the average final scores (rounded to the nearest thousandth) 1st Bluecoats 98.016 2nd Blue Devils 97.647 3rd Boston Crusaders 97.522 4th Carolina Crown 96.95 5th Santa Clara Vanguard 95.208 6th Phantom Regiment 93.297 7th Mandarins 92.191 8th Blue Stars 91.044 9th Cavaliers 90.256 10th Troopers 88.975 11th Colts 88.884 12th Blue Knights 86.303 13th Crossmen 85.041 14th Madison Scouts 84.778 15th Spirit of Atlanta 84.767 16th Pacific Crest 84.119 17th Music City 82.775 18th The Academy 82.547 19th Spartans 80.419 20th Genesis 78.197 21st Seattle Cascades 75.683 22nd Jersey Surf 74.496 Captions: corps with the highest average is given caption with the two runner ups being mentioned Color Guard: Boston Crusaders (2nd Blue Devils, 3rd Bluecoats) Visual: Blue Devils (2nd Bluecoats, 3rd Boston Crusaders) Brass: Carolina Crown (2nd Bluecoats, 3rd Boston Crusaders) Percussion: Santa Clara Vanguard (2nd Bluecoats, 3rd Boston Crusaders) General Effect: Bluecoats (2nd Blue Devils, 3rd Boston Crusaders) Ironically, these were the exact caption winners for 2019 season More captions stats: as of the 2025 season, Blue Devils & Bluecoats have won the most captions with six apiece, Boston Crusaders is close behind at five; Carolina Crown, The Cavaliers and Santa Clara Vanguard have all won one each. Also as of the 2025 season, no corps has won all captions at least once. The two closest are Blue Devils (Percussion) and Bluecoats (Color Guard). Both Brass and Percussion captions have seen a different corps winning each year. The Visual and General Effect captions have been won by the same corps during the same seasons. (2022 and 2023 for Blue Devils, 2024 and 2025 for Bluecoats) The Color Guard caption is the most dominant, as the Boston Crusaders have won three out of the four possible seasons. Top 12 Shows by score 1st Blue Tempus 98.975 2nd tied The Cut-Outs 98.75 2nd tied Change is Everything 98.75 4th BOOM 98.425 5th The Observer Effect 98.25 6th The Garden of Love 97.738 7th The Round Table: Echoes of Camelot 97.663 8th Glitch 97.413 9th tied Riffs & Revelations 97.325 9th tied Paradise Lost 97.325 11th The Romantics 97.075 12th White Whale 96.925
  9. SCV won percussion while BD won guard and brass
  10. Heads up, the YouTube live stream is ahead by a few seconds.
  11. The set up to BDs first hit… chef’s kiss.
  12. Wonder how many times this has been said the past few years… hey, what you do last Saturday Went to see the Colts play in their stadium but they had a road game
  13. A recent example is 2012, Carolina Crown & Blue Devils tied for the visual caption.
  14. I had a feeling Prelims and Semis would have different winners.
  15. One last time as an Open Class corps. Hitting the heart strings there.
