  1. Did not bluecoats do something similar to this for Downside Up?
  2. What if it is just a PR gimmick to increase interest? Either way, sounds interesting!
  3. Can you share information about the drill writing program they used? 🙂 Is there a list of staff involved? Rehearsal location?
  4. Why do you think everyone would need to move? Some would, yes. I've had friends do that. But mostly it would be come local members. So, DCI would return to the local model, just in the winter. It isn't that crazy of an idea. Groups would have to get smaller because, you know, hearing damage and all. But that could lead to units with multiple groups across multiple classifications. For example, BD regional A, BD A, BD open, BD world. And maybe we get an even more "avant garde" type classification were groups have their most talented members swinging from the rafters while farting into kazoos to play Mahler's 5th. I'm all for anything that puts instruments in kid's hands and lets them perform. I do not care about what the combination of instruments/equipment. If DCI dies and is replaced by "band" I'll continue to support and buy tickets. Because that is what the point is to me. Students performing and living their best musical lives.
  5. We (my circle of friends) have started referring to them as disposable. They are good for a year or two if I'm lucky, then they become oil rags, cleaning rags etc.
  6. again, that is because it is not a simple process.
  7. I agree. I understand smaller groups using screens, etc to make the field smaller. But when I see stuff on the field, I expect it to be an actual part of the performance.
  8. There is nothing basic about copyright/streaming/licenses and laws.
  9. Environmental or functional. That is how I've heard it defined in my section of the world.
  10. Is a car steering wheel a prop? How about a book? What about the shoes from the BD feature? Ya'll are reaching so hard you could have been the guy with the long arms.
  11. I saw some post mention the source of the instruments becoming a problem. (trying to avoid politics).
  12. It does not matter how it travels. It is still a prop.
  13. 20teens phantom had some decent stuff. They would gift us leftovers and it was much better than the stuff we were serving.
  14. Yeah I felt let down by their props as well.
